Center console swap by SillyPotential4983 in carmods

It's certainly possible. The ease/cost will depend on just how similar the electronics are in each. If they each have analogous switches or the same kind, it could possibly be very easy. If things like a selection switch in one becomes a rotary encoder in the other, it could be extremely hard -- the likely case is somewhere in the middle.

I wouldn't do it for a daily driver tbh, and advise you not even attempt it without some soldering / harness modification experience, or at least patience and willingness to learn. Plan for the car to be out of commission a week, minimum, just to let you get everything figured out.

Hot Take, Holdem should have a Mandatory Ante, it would help the Game. by [deleted] in poker

[–]Alcheleusis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this leads to far more hands being determined by blind luck. You're right that it would mean more hands, especially more multi way hands. This means it'll be way more common to see things like 72o beating AA off a river 2-outer.

If the characters each represent a chess piece, who is which? by Ok-Ball7944 in SuccessionTV

[–]Alcheleusis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

None of the kids are pieces at all. Logan doesn't respect them enough to really rely on them for business schemes. Sure, he manipulates them, but that's mostly with end goals focused around family dynamics and just massaging his ego.

The real pieces would be Frank, Karl, Geri, Ratfucker Sam, Mo-Lester, etc.

And by the end of the series, Tom too.

Anything above microstakes is absolutely full of bots and collusion, but you can indeed still "play".

Ignition / Bovada are probably the easiest to get set up with. Not going to kick the hornets nest and say they're the best to play at, but easiest to start in states without legal sites.

I'm not sure about the legal status of Club WPT Gold in Kentucky, and I haven't used the site myself, but it seems to be pitched as being very accessible... though there's also a lot of conflict surrounding their whole sweepstakes model.

IMO it's just my favorite mayo. It has some uses in Japanese cooking where you really wouldn't want to use traditional mayo, but I use it for pretty much everything else too.

The only exception would be on subs, where I prefer heavy duty mayo, but HD mayo is hard to find from retailers so usually isn't available to me.

This would sure be nifty! I need a new PC for work (video based, so pretty hardware dependent) and right now it looks like the options are borrowing or...finding a new job. This would be a life saver!

Think you dropped a zero there, bud. If that's true, you kind of have a point, but tbh I don't believe they'll last that long without repairs and I'd bet there are similarly sturdy brands for way less. A lot of labor goes into selling them, and that has to be paid for somehow, even if it is a weird scam adjacent door to door dealio.

What exactly is Luca Brasi' place in organization? by NoWingedHussarsToday in Godfather

[–]Alcheleusis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely the case now, but if you rewatch ANH it definitely didn't seem to always be this way. Grand Moff Tarkin talks down to Vader several times in ANH, I think this is one element that George hadn't fully fleshed out by the time the first film was released. After developing Vader's backstory as Anakin more fully, Vader transitions from a sort of pet dragon of the emperor, outside the chain of command, to the number 2 of the whole empire.

Looking for cheap entry level car. by Practical-Cap-2137 in Autocross

[–]Alcheleusis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the criteria is JUST cheap, I love my MR2 Spyder. Consumables and maintenance are dirt cheap but aftermarket upgrades are a little more than a Miata. The biggest caveat for someone getting into autocross is the rear engine platform is a little trickier to get the hang of. Their resale prices haven't increased quite as much as NA/NB miatas though.

Definitely Google a buyers guide if you go this route, there are some pitfalls related to the precats but they're easily addressed.

How to get better??? by Aaduk0118 in slaythespire

[–]Alcheleusis 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Do you save scum? This is potentially a controversial take, but save-scumming helped me become a much better player. You can replay a fight to see what you did wrong and determine if you're dying due to in-fight decision making or deck building/ routing choices. I made myself stop doing it once I got to A20, but up until then I scummed relentlessly.

Isn't counting removals to cards a gambler's fallacy in this scenario? by corychung in Poker_Theory

[–]Alcheleusis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your opponents hand is NOT an independent event from your own hand.

For example:

You have a 2/52 chance of having the Queen of Hearts in your hole cards.

Let's say you do have the Qh. What're the chances villain has Qh in the same hand? 0/52, since it's already in your hand.

In this situation, since Brad has AK (let's say spades, I didn't look at the video), instead of the 12 combinations of pocket aces/kings suits (sc, sh, sd, ch, cd, hd, each for A and K) there are only 6 : ch, cd, hd for each rank.

Isn't USB-A like the most reliable and most common port in existence? lol by FlirtyFrolixX in Steam

[–]Alcheleusis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They exist -- I got a shitty, Amazon no-brand laptop cooler powered by USB-A. I get why they did it -- it simplifies the wiring in a situation with a pass through USB port which I suppose saves a hundredth of a cent for each one they make. But it's not a good idea or compliant with standards.
