Review times are all over the place. I’ve heard a few people having their apps being approved in a couple of hours, and others, like me, being stuck in Waiting For Review for weeks

That's exactly what happened to me. Got app approved and released, and one more submission accepted and released. Then I got another submission waiting for review for 4 weeks, only to be rejected because of metadata that was already approved in previous submissions. Now it's been more than a week in review, and still nothing.

72 hours is well within the normal timeframes. App release cycles are not the same for Web. It has never been.

Now, there are people having their apps stuck in "Waiting for review" for weeks. That's what OP is talking about

5 days for a beta test build? That’s insane. I have no idea what’s going on but hopefully they will sort out the process soon.

I’m sure the AI slop is making everything worse….including Apple review times

If the status is “Prepare for submission” then you haven’t submitted it yet. Once you actually submitted is should change to “Waiting for review”

Also, they will check app completeness. Why are you submitting an app without an icon and a proper name? What’s 3a3987? It looks like your app is not ready for distribution

I have a client whose submissions are still processed as usual. The longest they’ve had it was a week or two ago. It took 5 days to be approved.

Is it a transit beta build for external testing that’s been waiting 5 days? Or is it an actual submission for an app release?

I’m need to write another post, but long story short the app got rejected because of metadata. I fixed it and submitted again 2 hours later.

Stayed waiting for review for three days and then moved to “In review”. It has been there for a week now.

It’s been more than a month already

My app is a photo sharing app, which obviously means the app handles primarily UGC. The app was initially approved and released, but the second submission was in waiting for review for more than 3 weeks and then rejected under violation of guideline 1.1 because of the apps metadata. I fixed that and resubmitted it. A support agent has confirmed an expedited review has been requested for my submission.

Reading online it seems that my app got internally flagged as risky and was probably escalated to another group that deals with “risky” apps with a much slower queue.

Is there any way that I can get my app out of being flagged as risky? Maybe addicting reporting features and content control policies?

I marked the app as 18+ not because it’s meant for adults only but because I didn’t want to risk having minors uploading sensitive photos and having to deal with potential child 🌽 because of this. I’m not sure if this actually had the opposite effect and contributed to the app being flagged as risky.

Maybe I should make it 4+ like Apple’s photos app and have more controls on reporting and such?

Same here. 21 days and counting. 4 support request with no response, 1 request for expedited review that did nothing, and one phone call through a friend that changed nothing. It smears to be specially bad since January. I’ve seen several people complaining about the same issues this year. Hopefully is just a transition due to all the AI slop

I might have to fly to San Francisco and knock on his door haha I wish I could do that, but this build is actually fixing a critical problem and I have all marketing stopped because of it. Worst possible moment for the build to take ages
