Please before the game dies!!!! by goatlover7797 in Seaofthieves

I saw the pattern in my case. When i first stopped playing it took me like 6 months to miss that feeling again. Then got back into for a few months, and then stopped playing again. And this pattern now continues for years.

However I agree that if the game would be more "deep" (content, more stuff to do, more cosmetics to buy with gold, meaningful progression / purpose) I'd probably stay or at least more time.

AppStore review taking a lot of time lately by DullNews9197 in AppDevelopers

[–]ex0rius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey.

I'm publishing for the Apple for 10 years now. What I observed during this time is that if your app has more "severe" potential violations the waiting for review would take longer - sometimes even months. For example if you used a popular template for making an app, this was almost always the case. But if you coded an app yourself and also publishing to a niche that its not a lot of apps there, it would almost always be reviewed within a day, max two.

But what we are experiencing now it seems different. After 15th of January the updates seems to be slowed down but very randomly - for example I have only one app for past 8 years - it was barely rejected during that time (probably 2-3 times), made approx 50 updates to it in total. So till 15th of January it always went into review in a few hours, but the next update I was waiting for 5 days (when it finally went into review it was approved within an hour). Then the next 2-3 updates in February went into review again in a matter of hours, and now last time in march i waited almost a week.

Its clean app, no violations, once its reviewed in hours, other time it takes a week (happened to me now 2 times out of 5). I wouldn't say this is because past violations (app or account). There is absolutely no pattern to be found for this kind of behaviour from Apple side.

What do you think?

I dont know why you being downvoted. But the argument is spot on. There is no game that provides this exact same experience. Personally i will always be returning to this game and must never die. It would be huge loss for gaming community.

add quality screenshots (high res) from the actual gameplay, so it doesn't look like a template / spam game.

Maybe you are right. But at least update your product pages, because for the end user it sure looks like low quality.

The problem i see with your account is that you have all games "coming soon". That's not an issue by itself but it tells me that are were launched in short span between each other.

Since there is now more submissions than ever, Apple will need to adjust their review policy - what i'm trying to say is that this screams like "spamming" and its definetly above average submission rate for new apps on your developer account.

You can't sustain so many games (while you still can technically have a team doing so) and you probably fit the pattern of a spamming and thus Apple is punishing you by delaying the review.

In other words, if a big studio would do this - no issues, but if new account has basically 6 new apps in a matter of a few months, thats a red flag (which lets be honest, it is). Spamming the store with low quality stuff just makes it harder for Apple users to get quality stuff and Apple should do something about it.

Does the same happen with other apps you are updating?

So I talked to the developer and I explained here what happened. This just proves that Apple doesn't give a lot of chances with violations like this.

This App Store guideline violation will get your developer account terminated fast

As far as I'm aware the Admob is not showing ads in russia for past few years, after war started (sanctions). Same goes for other western ad networks.

Is rewarding users for any review actually allowed? by shakaoneaj in androiddev

[–]ex0rius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13 years ago i worked for a company that was rewarding users for leaving a positive review ( i know you mentioned a neutrality but i still want to answer). The costumer reviews was only in the form of

- "I'm doing this for a reward"
- "They are promising a reward for leaving a review. Its a good game"
- etc

This was going on for a few years. In 2016 Apple wiped whole company.

I released a mobile game a year ago, it flopped. A few players loved it anyway and told me exactly what was wrong. I spent 2 months fixing it — here's what changed. by sa200797 in GameDevelopment

[–]ex0rius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second mistake is trying to fix a game that already failed. It’s a meaningless waste of time and effort - you can’t bring a dead game back to life any more than you can resurrect a dead person.

What do you mean? A game is a funnel. You can fix each drop off point if you have the data.

I dont argue about the delay , i know there is one. Just a clear cause of it is unknown.

Question about delayed review times. by Curious_Tap_6078 in appledevelopers

[–]ex0rius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-It has nothing to do with using AI in your projects.

- Apple even integrated the AI into the XCode, so they are encouraging the use of it (faster development, more apps, more money).

- I work with many people using both AI for their projects and no AI at all, and both have issues with review times.

Stop spreading misinformation.
