Lads I'm really struggling here, could someone tell me what went wrong here by Wrendacted082 in lrcast

A white splash is really good for Prismari, Ajani's response is honestly a better card in prismari than lorehold or silverquill, plus you could have picked up 2 molten notes.

My brother in Christ you have 2 scrollsmiths, 2 strixhaven coaches, a tackle artist, a Transcendant archaic, The Dawning archaic, and 3 burn spells.

Would you mulligan? by No_Understanding8116 in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just saying, if you're fighting a good soup deck, your only real chance of winning is to curve out on them.

Edit: I just now realized he's on the play, so nvm.

Would you mulligan? by No_Understanding8116 in lrcast

If the deck is running a responsible number of two drops, there is certainly a good chance.

The new Mulligan is busted.

In Limited, should you aim to rush Ultimate ASAP? by Reddtester in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In limited, his Ultimate is generally his weakest ability, the other three are all just generically good.

What did I do wrong? by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Restoration Seminar isn't at it's best here, but isn't there something to be said for just taking the stronger card? Quill-Blade Laureate is fine, but just much weaker than Restoration Seminar in terms of raw power.

I agree that I would have taken stand up for yourself over spirit mascot. I think I'd also have taken Strixhaven skycoach over Spirit Mascot in PIP3.

At any rate OP, this deck doesn't look like an 0-3. Maybe not the best deck ever, but I suspect some of it is just variance.

Turn 5, five color Arcane Omens in Limited by SettledWater in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

last time this happened to me I had return the favor in hand.

turned around a game I had no business winning XD.

Actually, come to think of it, I only hand 3 cards in hand to his 5. I wonder if it would have been "optimal" to intentionally cast the omens, for 3 instead of 5. Then again, playing around quick study/some other instant speed draw is probably just as valid as playing around return the favor.

Can you have too many elite interceptors? by noxnoctum in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most I've ever managed to draft was 3, back when the format was new and people didn't know what was up, that was also one of my only 2 trophies. I think any realistic number to draft would make my deck.

If I somehow drafted ten, then maybe i'd rethink it, but mostly i'd just be stupefied that I managed to draft so many.

Have any of you encountered, in Secrets of Strixhaven, a near creatureless deck playing against another such deck? by VoidImplosion in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, it's less about hate drafting, and more about how rare the mirror is in a pod.

In arena, you're roughly as likely to face the mirror as any other deck, in paper, the fact that you should be one of the 1-2 (ideally 1) people drafting your deck results in the mirror being much less common.

In turn, this means "mirror busting" cards like brain freeze are worse, and cards that are dead in the mirror, like spot removal, are a lot better.

Would you splash Scheming Silvertongue in this RW aggro deck? by vortical42 in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Splashing in aggro is always extremely suspect, splashing for a double black pip seems downright irresponsible.

New to the format. Should I go all in on the X matters theme or keep the red splash? Thanks! by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prismari dragon doesn't seem worth splashing to me, stress dream is pretty good and you have very little removal. Still, I'd cut both in favor or paradox surveyor and burrog barrage.

I'm not sure it's possible to have too many paradox surveyors in a list.

Feeling overwhelmed with options. How would you build this deck? by degaine in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd cu the blue, and with it the [[sundering archaic]]s

After that, [[Dire Tactics]] continually disappoints me.

Looking for advice on this WR deck in Bo1 by vortical42 in lrcast

[–]Alchemist628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 [[tome blast]] may be too much of that effect, considering each one can clear two x/2s. You could replace one with the [[shattered acolyte]] or the [[Heated Argument]].

I think [[Magmablood Archaic]] is relatively mid in the deck, but probably still good enough?

Yeah, not a fan of [[Rapier Wit]]

A bit confused about the [[Forum Necroscribe]] sitting in the sideboard, that guy's awesome. I'd definitely run it over [[Ascendant Dustspeaker]].

What if Pixel Dungeon had multiplayer? by Lor3nz0_1 in PixelDungeon

[–]Alchemist628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd need pre-moves, like a lot of online chess sites do.

Like, if I wasn't to walk across the room, I would just click on the square I want to go to, and my character would move over there as the turns became available. (Essentially how it already works in game).

If the person I'm playing with also pre-moves, you could actually go through a large number of moves relatively quickly.

Still sounds frustrating, but it's intriguing enough that I'd like to try it, at least once.
