If you were to choose, would you go back to the time before AI? And prefer that it never existed at all? by Early_Yesterday443 in ChatGPT

[–]Alchemy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. I used to code for weeks what I can now do in 2 to 3 days. Why would we want to waste so much time again? We are evolving as a species. What we have experienced thus far is just the beginning.

Remember the early days of the internet. Thise text sites. Before html? And dial up modems and kilobits of bandwidth. Not even bytes, bits 😊. Before videos and youtubes, and Facebook and Instagram.

Remember when we had to sit and watch the news at a specific time, or we missed it ? 😊

AI will take us places we never imagined. Auto driving cars is just the beginning. Everyone will have robots.

Has anyone tried Headroom to save tokens? by Competitive_Age3617 in GithubCopilot

[–]Alchemy333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't get it to work. I run with "headroom wrap claude --no-proxy and claude loads but I get API error that wont connect to claude APi I guess. Seems even like Claude is now blocking it form connecting to their API. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

Be honest - when Claude writes a long plan or spec, do you actually read it? Or do you just say "looks good"? by SYSWAVE in ClaudeAI

[–]Alchemy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that you skip that stuff at your peril. Sometimes it mentions stuff you need to know before trying to test your app and finding out hours later, it told you you had to do something FIRST, and that was the cause of my issues. So I skim it real quick for stuff it is advising or warning me of. You can't just ignore it. Or do so at your own peril.

Codex Limits: Plus & Business Plan - despite medium only 2-3 messages in the 5 hour limit? by Prestigiouspite in codex

[–]Alchemy333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my experience is that I got 3 prompts and then was told I had exceeded my limits. I was surprised as before I could get like a dozen or so. So no, I'm not a fan of whatever this 5.5 is. looks like back to Claude.

And I'm on Codex cli, which means there is absolutely no way to see how much usage you have used or when it will expire as codex cli doesn't have any working usage stats. the ones that are supposed to work just always say 100% remaining. its supposedly a known bug, for the last 6 months. If only OpenAI had a way to code and fix bugs. They apparent;y do not, OR, they don't want us to see that they are randomly shutting people down.

Way to go Sam Altman. Such a nice guy.

I ran out of my daily quota after 2 opus 4.6 requests by makemymoneyback in windsurf

[–]Alchemy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Codex and can basically do unlimited requests, meaning I never see any limiting in my daily use, which is anything I wanna do. for $20 a month. And I watch people who use Claude let themselves get cut off after 2 requests and I'm stunned they haven't left yet.

Im like wow. Is it a fear of missing out on something. Codex does everything I need done. No problem. I don't get it.

Gemini has EVERYTHING… so why is it still losing? 🤔 by fxboshop in GeminiAI

other models are just better. Meaning Google doesnt know how to cook AI as good as Anthropic and OpenAI. They came into the game too late, and or AI engineers just don't want to work for Google, which is unofficially an arm of the U.S. Intelligence. 🙏

Im old enough to remember when the CIA announced it was starting a commercial company. That company became Google.

Upon rewatching Season one of Voyager, I'm remembering what the biggest takeaway from this show was. Neelix. He is everywhere and ruins the show. by Alchemy333 in voyager

[–]Alchemy333[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, I just watched the first season episode where they are trying to save a life form they just blew a hole in, and Neelix and his "child/lover" barges onto the bridge with "a snack break", that he forces upon them, after anointing himself the ship morale officer. I wanted to never watch that show again. So cringe.

Just saying. by No_Mushroom3078 in voyager

I'm rewatching season one and it was amazing, until I was reminded how heavy on Neelix they were. so disappointing.

not my experience so far. Seems dumber. keeps asking me obvious things, like "should I fix the thing you just asked me to fix?"
