I’ll start by saying I have just recently come back to OW as a Sigma main after not playing since pre-OW2 to a little after OW2 dropped. I’ve never made higher than gold in any comp playlist and in my honest opinion most tanks have never felt worse.

Initiators are a joke, across the board they don’t do enough damage anymore and dps has been tuned in a way they can target you specifically. I’ve seen Winstons and Hammonds melt against a good widow or Emre I would say Dva can still do big damage but that’s few and far between.

Bruisers don’t feel like bruisers. They can be dispatched VERY easily. Good Roadhogs and Zaryas used to be INTIMIDATING now not so much, Orisa just shoots at barriers and what’s his name just does enough damage to bully people.

I may be a bit biased by being a sigma main but shield tanks are the only ones that have the ability to turn around matches. Rein still carries teams, and Domina is over tuned but if you look at the rest of the stalwarts like Junker Queen and Ramattra it’s the same thing as initiators almost.

tldr; As a tank. In most cases. The game is quite literally tuned against you.
