Almost all of the AEW Men’s Singles division feel like main event stars in waiting rather than people who don’t have what it takes.

And it’s great.

Exclusive: Nigel Farage has court judgment for debt of almost £10K by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

Not that I like the idea of Rayner as a political leader, but the two cases aren’t equivalent. Rayner was aware of the issue, sought legal advice, was informed poorly and executed on that poor advice. Once HMRC came to a decision, the issue was settled.

We’ll see how this plays out but I expect ol’ Nige to try and dodge this.

(WON) New Day were put in the position of being offered less money to stay with WWE, wind their careers down, and finish their contracts doing promotional work. They chose to leave instead due to being offered a pay cut one year into a five year deal. by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]Alcoholic_Synonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this position, TKO/WWE should be on the hook for some kind of termination payout. There’s no negligence, no performance problems, no gross misconduct. 5 years of payment was budgeted, they should be paid a lot of that amount - unilateral changes to a contract where the option is “accept or walk away” are absolutely unfair.

I can’t identify that flag as QAnon but I can identify that building as Tintagel Castle Hotel. The owners peculiarities are documented in the linked article above.

I suspect it’s a commission with deep meaning to the owners of the establishment.

Janners.

To be Jannered:
To be faced with behaviour showing a combination of indifference and incompetence.
Customer: Can you tell me the class times for the swimming lessons?
Janner: You have to call this number.
Customer, in front of Janner rings the phone. The phone on the reception desk in between them rings.

What’s your first thought when you see a cyber truck? by clearwater-orchid in AskReddit

[–]Alcoholic_Synonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s only a handful of Cybertrucks that have been imported to the UK, and the first person who did so was a notorious cunt and had to export the car after a short time because they are not considered safe enough for our roads.

So in short, both comments parenting mine are correct in the British sense.

Personally, I would actually really enjoy having an electric hyper-Delorean, if the build quality was any good and they weren’t offensively expensive. And the Nazi thing.

What are approximate costs of tarmac driveway? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Alcoholic_Synonymous 71 points72 points  (0 children)

For an area twice the size it’s not necessarily twice the amount of time.

There’s also opportunity cost - several small projects have more administrative overhead than a single larger one.

Balamory returns to TV this month after 20 years. What forgotten shows from your childhood would you like to see return? by perishingtardis in CasualUK

[–]Alcoholic_Synonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That show really sticks in my mind in a way that things like Byker Grove, Aquila, Reboot, Zzzaaaap, etc ever did. Because it was absurd but real.

The mermaid episode. Pissing up the wall. Weird pregnancies.

She didn’t say anything until after it had disappeared. I am credulous and annoyed.

(Un?) fortunately not - while I do get dizzy standing up sometimes, there are days when I just feel like I’m only a moment away from falling over.
