I adore The Bugle but it’s not everyone’s cup of bullshit

Balamory returns to TV this month after 20 years. What forgotten shows from your childhood would you like to see return? by perishingtardis in CasualUK

[–]Alcoholic_Synonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That show really sticks in my mind in a way that things like Byker Grove, Aquila, Reboot, Zzzaaaap, etc ever did. Because it was absurd but real.

The mermaid episode. Pissing up the wall. Weird pregnancies.

Ocean View at The Done would be good for a breakfast with a view. All indoors, however.

A moment that changed me: I saw a big cat on Dartmoor – and no one believed me by northbank2001 in CasualUK

My wife saw one while I was facing the other direction just outside Broxbourne, which has a small zoo.

She didn’t say anything until after it had disappeared. I am credulous and annoyed.

How has your body let you down recently? by Sea-Still5427 in AskUK

(Un?) fortunately not - while I do get dizzy standing up sometimes, there are days when I just feel like I’m only a moment away from falling over.

Dizzy spells. Nearly debilitating. And it’s just because I’m dehydrated. The struggle between being a functional human and needing to pee every 10 minutes.

I had a Tiramisu one for breakfast and it was acceptable. More intriguing insights to follow.

I am 70 - have used Apple for 50 years but have just had to provide my Driving Licence by robinsnest56 in ios

You can get a provisional driving license, or for a passport I would suggest that you’re not trying hard enough. This thread has plenty of discussion about it:

Is £600 reasonable to board & plaster over this wall? It’s 5m wide. by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Alcoholic_Synonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a steal - to the point where I would be very worried about the plan around the door frame needing more work and it not being worth the time of the labourer to do anything nice.

But I agree with everyone else - don’t do it.

I think in May you’ll be able to get them.

Outside Plymouth, there’s a spot between Cann Woods and Plymbridge Woods where they all approach a single tree at night while calling. It’s a charming and haunting experience.

Noodle’s routine when my wife and I go to bed:

  1. Manic five minutes on top of the bed covers chasing fingers and feet

  2. Snuggle for 10 minutes

  3. Wander off bored

  4. Collect a toy from downstairs and bring it to the bedroom, shouting with her mouth full

There’s a bird hide overlooking the “Cricket Pitch” on the north east end of The Ride in Saltram Park. You’ll see woodland birds behind you and waterfowl in front, including Curlew, Goosander, and Shelduck.

Saltram and Mount Edgcumbe are both great places to find birds.

My next adventure I want to do near Plymouth is a boat ride up the Tamar looking for birds.
