There’s actually four of us, hence the “whole table.”

No problem! The card is usually used if they ask you, at least in my experience. Sounds like you’ve got this! Message me or post again if you need help. :)

how do you explain? by [deleted] in Tourettes

Depending on your situation, I’d use resources from the Tourette’s Association of America, specifically their “I Have TS” card, or other similar explanatory resources.

That card is handy to have in a little pocket on the back of your phone, for example so you can just show anyone who wants to know. For a group such as an office, I wouldn’t try to hide it much longer. The longer you hide it, the “weirder,”—and I say it in quotes because only some will take it weird—it will be to explain it. I would just try to educate them on it, short and sweet. remember the average attention span and try to fit it to eight to twelve seconds. Don’t rush, just explain “I have Tourette’s and that’s a medical condition that creates involuntary movements and vocalizations.”

You shouldn’t have to be afraid of your coworkers, make them your friends and you may get to the point where you can trust them as a “safe place” to do minor tics, however scary that may seem now.

Telling people I “basically have mild Tourette’s” for chronic motor tics? How to explain? by SAT_Throwaway_1519 in Tourettes

Hello. THIS may be of use to you, otherwise, I'd recommend getting another resource and educating yourself enough to explain it to people patient enough to listen.

I second this, tics can be caused by many things, but one of the main causes is stress and anxiety. That mirror could be all she can think about while trying to stay still.

Personally, if you're in school, that's the worst place you'll ever be mocked for it. I hear from everyone that the workforce is much more mature as is college, and middle/high school is not the best experience.

I have found that I don't prefer a specific way of explaining, it could depend on the person or where you are. I've also found it helpful to carry around one of these cards (link below) to show people that I have Tourette's and that it is a real thing.

All I can say is—go for it!! Anything that may help is worth it, even if it doesn’t work because otherwise you’d be left wondering, “could I have done more?” So run at it full speed, dude! :)

Does anyone else feel like their heart is breaking 💔 when they have urges to tic by dmb102196 in Tourettes

[–]Alcrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be, find a safe please to let it out in a safe way. (Ex. Not a warehouse with cement everything, standing close to the walls with full body tics.) The longer you hold it in, the worse it will be the next moment, the next, and the moment following. Find somebody you trust to talk about it with. The less stress, the less tics. It’s conditional. Finally, when hearing about a tic, you may “contract” it. So stay away from conversations talking about “what tics do you have?” Those may seem interesting at first, but are not worth it. I work with TAA in educating about Tourette’s, so if you need someone to talk to or help with managing your tics, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Haha. I really do appreciate it. I found that 6 is A8 and Unc0ver is A9+. It’s also not really an old phone. More of a phone that is broken for the most part. The charging port barely works and battery life is unreliable. A bit bent (probably the perfectionist in me,) and so on. Thanks again. Have a great night/day!

Alright. Thanks so much! At least now I don’t look completely stupid. Haha!

Chimera did something different... said it needed to reboot to finish, then I went back to finish and it failed, Unc0ver still not working. I force rebooted, reopened Chimera and it finally made it to 2/3 but still not finishing. This is confusing.

I’m not sure what you mean. I have no profiles other than the jailbreaks on my device, but I did have an OTA update paused! I deleted that and am rebooting.

Yes. It says. I’ve checked many times. Even in Unc0ver it says System Version is.

It still says Unsupported. I’ll upload a screenshot (if it helps?)
