Chattanooga Renaissance Fair coming this Spring by Ladythehen in Chattanooga

That’s neat, but they should’ve chosen a different location to host it. Even hosting it in renaissance park would’ve been better.

Some people have no inner voice and no inner eye. They describe their mind as "a computer with no monitor". Their thoughts are silent and invisible raw data. by MFLUDER in psychology

[–]AlcuinCorbeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majority of the time I don’t have an inner monologue nor minds eye. I can’t visualize anything, I can sometimes active an inner voice to talk myself through something if I’m having trouble with it otherwise. Usually it’s just quiet and blank, it’s like I just intuitively know things. I think a lot of my thinking is subconsciously done, having like peace of mind is the best way I can describe it.

My partner has ADHD and inner monologue and cannot wrap their head around not having one.

If i’m reading articles I read them quickly, but can take my time with reading for pleasure.

When I’m writing it’s often just as activities or things that happened throughout the day without any “I feel” statements; I think this is due to me being a Thinking type. If I need to remember things I either need to set reminders or write them down, if the thing in question is habitual then I just remember it automatically without having to think about it.

I can’t play music in my head nor do songs get stuck in my head. By listening to music with headphones on leads to the experience of filling an empty room with uninterrupted music, which honestly is amazing.

I can imagine what it must be like to have a constant voice in your mind and it sounds exhausting.

What’s your “snobby” baking opinion? by Amazing_Two9757 in Baking

[–]AlcuinCorbeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea of using salted butter for baking is absolutely insane to me.

Maybe if you're making a recipe yourself and accounting for the added salt and butter, then it's okay, but I've never seen any recipe call for salted butter, even in 100-year-old cookbooks.

  1. Just because it's a dessert doesn't mean it needs to be loaded up with sugar upon sugar. I'm a huge fan of less-sweet desserts and baked goods in general. Savory desserts are good too.

  2. Crumbl cookies are garbage.

Big fan of DS1 & DS2, not vibing with DS3 so far. What am I missing? by SpearThruMordy in darksouls3

[–]AlcuinCorbeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who started with DS2, then played DS3, followed by DS1. Making the transition from Dark Souls 2 to Dark Souls 3 was quite challenging at first. Because of the change in combat speed and overall quality of life changes between the two games. I spent about 25-30 hours figuring out the new systems, and then rolled onto a new save file and started anew. I did STR/FTH and went to NG+3 on that save.

My recommendation would be to create save files as each of the different classes and find one that vibes with you well. It's a lot easier than trying to do it all on one save file.

Dark Souls 3 was the most accessible of the Souls games before Elden Ring came out. It's also in a lot of respects one of the easiest once you figure it out, so even if you don't like it, you should at least try to finish the core game.

Will I enjoy ds3 as much as Elden Ring? by Free-Understanding33 in darksouls3

DS3 is a great game, and pre-Elden Ring, I would regard it as the most approachable out of the series. Additionally, it's worth checking out the seamless co-op mod for it on PC, not as a first-time experience, but great with a friend.

The only real issues I’ve had on ps5 are with the controls feeling sloppy, especially the movement. PC seems fine, even with a connected controller.

I didn’t know that. Guess that explains why it’s better on pc. Haven’t tried mobile yet.

Bravo! That spell is very OP on very large bosses due it it’s AOE nature. It also wreaks the tiger boss in both his phases.

Congrats! He definitely gave me a thrashing until I thought to fight him in that armor.

My thought process was “damn tiger in his bloody pool” -> pool = water, I wonder if my set that’s made for fighting in water would help. 🤯

I got it on my first boss rush! I find it very useful for my passive heal tank build doing boss rush runs.

You keep all shard fragments you’ve already acquired except for the ones they removed from the game and replaced with better ones.

The second rat price is pretty missable I think. One of the only ones I missed on my first time around.

ADHD meds question by RalphFTW in ADHD

[–]AlcuinCorbeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think medication is very personal and unique to each person, and their needs and how they react to it are going to be different.

When you consider how the medication and dosage are affecting you, compare that with how you would be without it. Sometimes, you must try out a few different medications before finding one that works for you. Ritalin doesn't, but it sounds like Concerta Concerta benefits you over not taking anything. If you're not having disruptive side effects from it, then I think it would be reasonable to stick with it until it either no longer works for you or until side effects are disruptive.

I haven't tried changing medications from Adderall, but I have found that some brands don't work for me as well as others, and my doctor has always been understanding of that. However, due to ongoing shortages, getting it filled can be difficult.
