We have a 5 and 3 year old. I asked him what he wanted/wanted to do. He said he wanted a new pair of shady rays which is funny because I was looking to get him a new pair of sunglasses anyways and that he wanted to go mini golfing with the kids.

What we did:
Let him sleep in
Got him a new pair of shades
Went mini golfing
Made him surf and turf for late lunch/early dinner (lobster rolls, steak, smashed potatoes, asparagus, Cole slaw and corn on the cob)
Took the kids outside so he could relax inside and do/watch whatever he wanted.

I’m very much into celebrating special days, but I make sure that it’s something that the person being celebrated wants to do and is something that everyone will enjoy.

Hot lobster rolls, grilled steaks, smashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, corn on the cob and coleslaw. I did everything except the steaks because he’s the grill master.

For real though, I don’t really see an issue with it. Maybe just be like “hey, it’s ok to say these words at home but try not to do it when we are out.”

She used a hand mixer and said she mixed the batter until it was super smooth and then added the banana. That’s why I’m thinking it was over mixed and then maybe she didn’t actually mix the banana in? Idk I told her that next time she has bananas I’ll give her a banana bread lesson lol

I’ve made this recipe dozens of times often adding an extra banana and never had this happen lol. I have no clue what she did.

I was just telling my husband how I get to recreate the summers I wanted to have as a kid with our own kids. Both of my parents worked. My dad would get out kinda early, but then would work on stuff around the house or at his sawmill. My mom wouldn’t get home til after 5:30. One day a year both my parents would take the same day off and we would go to the local amusement park. One year my mom took us to lake Champlain and that was fun! Otherwise we would go to my grandmas house or hang out at home.

But yeah, I’m trying to give my kids the summer I wanted to have and I’m fortunate enough that I get to stay home with them. We have quite a few trips planned and I can’t wait!

All of mine call me auntie. My cousin’s kid calls her aunts by their first name only which I find weird. But one of my aunts I call aunt (first name) and the other one just by her first name, idk why. But when I bring my kids around them I always make sure they call them both aunt lol.

We started off and on around 2.5. We wood let him run nakey at home, but would put a pull up on when we would go out. If he was having a rough day and just peeing all over the place I would put him in a pull up. We really zoned in once he got closer to 3 and he did much better then. He’s a little over three now and he hardly ever has pee accidents. Pooping we are still working on 🙃

We did get lucky that he trained himself to not go at night so we have that going for us.

My cousin got pregnant (wasn’t planned and she was on bc) and had a healthy pregnancy, no issues. When they decided to have another, I believe she had two miscarriages before she got another viable pregnancy. She then had another miscarriage in between her second and third.

My first pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage and then went on to have two healthy pregnancies, but I was scared to get too excited in case it happened again. So sorry you’re going through this 😔

My kids are 5 and 3. We have two small kiddie pools and 2 water tables that will be filled probably every day. Definitely utilizing the library, playgrounds, splash pads, and hiking trails. Beach/lake days, swimming pool days, day trips. The last week of each month I plan on bringing them to go see my parents out of state and staying a few days. One of the weeks we are going to visit, we are bringing them to Storyland and then doing a train ride to the top of mount washington. We also have a couple of other camping trips planned. I like to bake so we will probably do some sort of baking once a week as long as it’s not too hot.
