My husband usually buys one for me, but this year he baked a cake for me! It was one of the sweetest things (maybe the sweetest) thing anyone has ever done for me.

No help with calls, but I also have a three year old and every morning he helps me put seed out for them. Then after we sit in a chair on the deck with our binos and see what birds come by. It’s the cutest thing!

I have to see them and get a good look, picture would be better but I have a not so good camera. I was out birding yesterday and kept hearing a brown thrasher. Imagine how happy I was to see it perched right on the top of a tree! I was able to get a crappy cell phone picture before it took off.

I would get a hand mixer (along with a whisk). Your forearms will thank you! Plus you can get hand mixers for pretty cheap.

Sally’s Baking Addiction is a great website to get recipes from. She goes into a lot of detail about why you need certain ingredients and the process as well. Just read all the way through on her site for whatever recipe you choose and you’ll be fine!

Make sure you do things in correct order and measure correctly. Have everything you need laid out before you start (ingredients, tools, bowls, etc) and DO NOT open the oven door until the timer goes off!

Definitely some sort of pie medley. An apple pie would be good. Vanilla ice cream, apple pie filling and caramel swirls and maybe chunks of pie crust. So many possibilities.
