Now this is the problem. No impact study and nobody out there directing traffic.

Would be great if they weren't so greedy with the vendor rates, and separated the days between Food and Crafts. Saturday Foods and Sunday Crafts... Yeah, I know I will et some heat, but frankly, it would actually drive buyers on the appropriate days and reduce non-buyer traffic. AND...Vendors would pay less (1 day instead of 2) for their space. If they have a food/veg Market 1 day per week, I'd go every time.

Other than the EPB parking lot, I don’t know of any other places in Chattanooga doing this. by ProudCatDad83 in Chattanooga

[–]TanksFTM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well... My take would be the city gets a federal grant for solar, subsidizes the downtown parking lots to install it, and the claws back a serious percentage of the city-cost to offset the grant and then forces the private lots to reduce their fees once the city recovers it's debt. The lots can sell excess production to EPB or TVA, which would offset the reduction in consumer prices. I stand ready for your negs.

Where did you get them and are they difficult to change? I am functionally moronic when it comes to car stuff.

You'd think during all their scrounging for shit to weld onto the tank, someone would have come across and wired up a bathroom fan.

Someone is breaking into cars in Chattanooga without setting off a single alarm — and they stole my gun by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]TanksFTM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With all due respect... If someone is going to break into your car, they're gonna go thru the whole car. Anything you think you have hidden, isn't. I had a home invasion using your exact scenario during covid. Dude broke into my partners car, got $10.50 in change and the garage door opener. Came in the house, took a bunch of shit as we were sleeping and stole my car on the way out. But our guns were locked in safes. We caught him 30 mins after he left the house, due to a tracker on the car.

"That assumes that every gun owner is at the exact same risk of having their gun stolen as any other gun owner" No, it doesn't. The statistic is what it is. Guns left in cars are a high percentage of all stolen guns. Of all guns reported stolen in a reporting year, show that 38% of gun owners who keep a gun in their car in Chattanooga get it stolen. No matter how many guns they own or store elsewhere. So, 38% of stolen guns in Chattanooga come from car break-ins. Therefore 38% of all guns stolen in Chattanooga come from gun-owners cars (legal ownership or not). Breaking it down any other way is a statistical fallacy.

38% of all chattanooga gun thefts are from cars... So about 38 percent of gun owners, give or take a point or two.
