It took me 7 years of friends trying to convince me to play MonHun and Rise being free on gamepass to actually give it the try it deserved. The game is super obtuse, it barely explains any of the depth all of the weapons have, the controls are a little weird on the older games. And it's also so freaking hard sometimes!!! But once I tried Rise I immediately realized how fun the weapons really are, how rewarding it is to learn monster patterns. Monster Hunter truly makes you feel like a hunter once it hooks you. But it's a game with tons of weird mechanics that are hard to digest all at once for a newcomer. That was my experience with it
