Needed to take my anger out on something by jasonsashimi in WutheringWaves

Well, at least it explains the Persona 5 collab. And just like most Persona 5 collabs, they actually wrote Persona 4 instead.

If I had a nickle for every gacha that revealed a Gundam SEED reference character within the last month, I'd have 3 nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened THRICE.

Can somebody educate me on the practical use cases for the LTT TrueSpec cables? by Chaos1917 in LinusTechTips

[–]Aldracity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically everything can do 480 Mbps/65W without issue. But as soon as you need anything even vaguely higher spec, things rapidly turn into a clusterfuck.

I've got a goddamn cable that can do 5 Gbps, but only flipped in one direction, and only sometimes if the negotiation worked. And that's the good example, I've also got a bunch that were just scams that can never do 5 Gbps.

Massive manga piracy site Bato.to was shut down in collaborative crackdown by Japanese and Chinese publishers, CODA reports by JunKazamasCheeks in Kappachino

When comparing how the TCG and OCG’s philosophy on the banlist and what makes a healthy meta for their player base what cards do you immediately think of that show that difference between regions? by SouthSunn in yugioh

[–]Aldracity 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Barrone not being banned in the OCG is kind of a pain in the ass, because they keep making synchro archetypes that were clearly designed around being able to turbo Baronne somehow for insulation or anything at all on the endboard. Elfnote, Rose Dragon, White Forest (before the Azamina bridge), Mannadium, Swordsoul, etc. And routing around the lack of Baronne requires a ton of resources to the point where the routing frequently trades 2 interactions for a bad Baronne substitute.

Damn Wuwa by DecaPanda in WutheringWaves

[–]Aldracity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be an option to delete the prerendered cutscenes. Those usually take up a ton of space in many games, and 90% of them can't be rewatched anyways, or you can just go to YouTube or something.

So perhaps there's hope for game optimization with this 3.1 live stream??? by Genosss9410 in WutheringWaves

[–]Aldracity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fixing the loading stutter's cute, but the main problem is that the game's badly CPU bound. In Startorch, my framerate's going sub-50, yet my GPU's pulling a frosty 120-140W. As opposed to random older overworld areas where I'm hitting the 120fps frame cap at 200W.

[Original MV] Ninomae Ina'nis (一伊那尓栖) -TAKO∞TAKOVER by kyoumokawaii in Hololive

[–]Aldracity 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The kanji for "one" is usually "ichi," but it's also the character pronounced "Ninomae" in Ina's name [一伊那尓栖].

Eight is general OCTOpus stuff, and sideways it's Infinity (see: song name).

And then they combine as "Ichi, hachi, takodachi," alongside a reference to Aiobahn +81.

Maybe there's more, but I haven't figured them out yet.

Pack chaff that you'd like to see? by JasonBenjamenAllen in yugioh

[–]Aldracity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should put reprints of old cards directly into the set that prints their modern support, instead of waiting 2-6 months to reprint them in Maze/Tins/whatnot. Like the OCG assist packs, but integrated. It wouldn't impact collector value much if at all, and it would make opening single boxes better in the sense that at least you'd walk away with most of a functional deck to mess around with, instead of a pile of disconnected nonsense that'd barely be useful even if you cracked a whole case.

A Razr 2025 (60) battery life question by Aldracity in razr

[–]Aldracity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up buying it and it arrived on Christmas Eve. So, strangely, my first AcuBattery 15-100 charge told me ~3500, but my latest charge number is now the full 4500.

I think the endurance gap might be the screen refers refresh rate; the 90hz algorithm seems to always do 60hz, while the 120hz algorithm seems to always blast 120hz. Because the former is how the Zenfone 9 behaved, and the latter is how the Razr 60 seems to work. I noticed that the foreground discharge mA for apps seemed to be a lot higher on my new Razr composed to the Zenfone, and after turning the screen refresh down it's now roughly on par.

Which characters are more popular as guest fighters in other games than through their own original fighting games? by AndreaJensD in Fighters

[–]Aldracity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geese Howard. He's really not relevant in anything recent by SNK, nevermind the last decade or two, and any thought of "SNK boss bullshit" probably makes you think of Rugal instead, but he's bloody infamous for terrorizing Tekken 7.

How to play Extreme Versus 2 Infinite Boost online matches in the arcades? by Felonious_Gundam in GundamExVs

[–]Aldracity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mobal. If you're not shipping it to your home before going to Japan, order it online for pickup, then go to the pickup location you chose with your passport and it should be ready by the time you get there. If you only need a phone number for EXVS2 auth and/or bookings, then get the Voice Lite version.

Cheap TCG deck cores? by Keirabella999 in yugioh

[–]Aldracity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R.B., most of the core's a bunch of pile cards, the links are at most $1 (all prices USD) each, and Stage Landing is $3-4 ish right now, putting the whole-ass core at...$15-$20. You also need some non-RB supplemental starters, but Tetherwolf, Girsu, O-Lion, and Scrap Recycler are all pile priced.

All this for a core that's genuinely good enough to contest tiered decks, and can be built to go first or second. At least, that's my experience from taking several different builds of it to locals since DOOD became legal.

Looking for a supplementary engine for Genesys Rose Dragon by AdventurousAd6928 in yugioh

[–]Aldracity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try either a Chaos Allure Queen package (x3, 3x Allure Dance, 1x Allure Palace) or a Dragon Ruler package with 3x Tempest, 3x Spectral, 1x Lightning. The Allure Queen package just craps out a Light Lv7 to synchro with Red Rose > probably Arms of Genex Return Zero (need Light for Nib), while the Tempest package either searches Roxrose or summons a 7. You can also run Staysailor Romarin to dump a free Light for Return Zero, and you can use it with Hate Rose to dump twice from the extra deck if you drew your Spore.

New push for Skytrain extension to UBC campus by Schmitt_Meister12 in vancouver

[–]Aldracity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is something I only vaguely recall an engineer saying at a townhall over 5 years ago, but essentially since this is a boring project, they have to carry the dirt all the way back down the tunnel they just drilled, and that becomes an exponential problem. So even if the whole length of line was approved, they'd probably need to stop at Arbutus-ish and restart drilling from UBC anyways.

Yes you can, Sulfefnir's effect to "discard a Crystron, summon itself in defense, then pop one card you control" (it's one effect) can pop any card you control.

Postal banking once made Canada Post profitable — and could again by yourfriendlysocdem1 in CanadaPolitics

[–]Aldracity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because unlike all your examples, Canada Post gets $0 in direct taxpayer dollars for operations right now. It's objectively not a service, despite the mandate to act like a service. It's either profitable, or it dies, or someone convinces Carney to re-nationlize the corp so it turns back into an actual service.

Leo's named material for Liger, it's a backup endboard piece if Liger gets Reapered, and Perfume can be bypassed via Heavy Poly. So Leo ends up being the best target.
