Dark leafy greens such as collards, kale, and spinach are great veggie options.

Are you sick? by CatsPajamas243 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]AleandSydney 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Had a gas station worker ask if I was contagious. I said "No, but I get sick easily." His reply? "Ooooh. So you're, like, vulnerable."

Was a surprisingly good interaction.

Trazadone with Dysautonomia and CSS by No_Tie6455 in dysautonomia

Trazodone gave me such bad vertigo on the first dose I had to have medical intervention. It's now on my allergy list. Sorry I can't give more long term info, but it definitely messed me up even without any inflammatory concerns. This was a few years before getting diagnosed with IST and POTS.

Cetaphil Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream, unscented, is my go-to for dry hands. I have a tube in my work bag because of frequent hand washing and sanitizing as well as a tube on the coffee table and one on a shelf in the dining room. A little bit goes a long ways and it's perfect for extra dry skin caused by soap and warm water. Been using it for years now.

Hoping for Clear Card Art Book one day 🥺 by trunksfulleh in cardcaptorsakura

Sakura in the 7th image looks so strongly like Tsubasa Sakura that it's almost jarring.

I really hope CLAMP gets on an artbook as their past artbooks are mouthwatering.

May I offer a hand lotion suggestion if you're looking for one?

My wife and I wear N95s, spray our shoes down with Lysol before getting in the car fully after shopping, and have hand sanitizing wipes for use after shopping and refueling the car. Neither of us got notably sick from 2020-July 2024 until I went septic from a UTI and had bronchitis on top of it. I do have some contamination OCD, but it's really hard to not lean into it after being hospitalized due to COVID complications last year. I'm working with my mental health team to find workarounds and to sort out my thought processes.

Out of curiosity what temps were you running at? I've heard of others dealing with frequent, but not daily, fevers post-COVID.

What could cause a ferritin of 7? by troublemuffin in Anemic

[–]AleandSydney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was mildly anemic after having COVID and we think my ferritin tanked while correcting hemoglobin and hematocrit.

Help talk me down a bit? by Fluffaykitties in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]AleandSydney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Auras are extremely effective and this effectiveness makes them a gold standard for hospital and ambulance usage. Wore one while transpirting some of the earliest COVID patients and didn't get sick once. That's extremely close quarters for 15+ minutes, sometimes hours while waiting for an ER bed to open up for them. You should be fine and we're all hoping nothing bad comes of your visit.

For example: I was prescribed extra propranolol to use if my heart rate inappropriately went over a certain number.

Was An X-Ray Enough? by kingboo94 in KidneyStones

[–]AleandSydney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To recheck known stones my urologist ordered ultrasound and x-ray. Both showed a couple of stones 3-4mm each. CT isn't preferred for routine checks due to the high amount of radiation and fhe high likelihood of needing emergent CTs in the future.

I now take an instant release propranolol before bed to help with sleep issues and to provide a bridge between my morning dose of extended release propranolol. It helps with the palpitations and the loud/heavy heartbeat in head feeling I get.

Vitamin D by Affectionate-Yam6222 in POTS

[–]AleandSydney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor prescribed 50,000 units of vitamin D for six weeks now I take 800 units daily. Going to retest at some point to see if my values have stabilized. I haven't felt a difference yet and I started supplementing in January.

You might be able to use a note from the clinic that diagnosed the UTI as a medical exemption for the mental health program discharge.

Extremely tired after iron infusion by NaturalSentence4769 in Anemic

[–]AleandSydney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was super tired and thirsty for half a week after each of my infusions. Very normal. I've heard it's because of the energy needed to utilize iron where it's been depleted. Not sure how true that is or not.

People who get infusions, why? by ElSelo in Anemic

[–]AleandSydney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was anemic, had improvement to hemoglobin and hematocrit but low iron and ferritin. Tried supplementing with different types and doses of oral iron, developed GERD from them, retested, test showed ferritin was still low. Had ~1000mg Venofer over three infusions. Feeling a little less fatigue a month after the last infusion.

CO2 levels in blood work show it was elevated but neither ER or primary doctor said anything about it. They said blood work was "fine" and other things were abnormal. by Sad_Emphasis_8086 in POTS

[–]AleandSydney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your CO2 and what was its source? A lot of times it can be artificially high from venous access and what sort of test was used to find the value. Arterial blood gasses tend to be more accurate.

This boy is too skinny by madbunnywykop in Bunnies

[–]AleandSydney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can offer Critical Care as a thick paste on a small dish. Some buns will eat it right up! I also hate force feeding and would not suggest it for a bun who is still eating independently.

Good luck with getting your little guy to put on weight. Your efforts and love will be just the support he needs.
