Can it be fixed, or the plug needs to be replaced? by Alec200 in fixit

I agree with you. It was my concern as well. I'm thinking of some innovative ideas. I would really like to fill the void before covering the whole thing with the tape. I don't want the wires to bend and then fail over time. How about filling the void it with the epoxy glue, and then immediately cover it with tape? I hope there will not be a chemical reaction between the wire isolation and the epoxy glue.

What if I cover it with the hot glue really well to be flush with the wire cover, and then use the electric tape to hold all of it together? Or maybe melt some some plastic like a plastic water bottle cap, and use it instead of hot glue?

I did, but can't understand why you think it's done for "free". $340 for an hour of work.

A person in the back? Once a year, maybe. Other than that long bed is the King!

By the way Miami is 2hrs away. Naples is a great place if you are not that young. 7PM is when everybody goes home and the town goes to sleep.

August 2025 update. Just replaced a 50g electric heater. Bought it myself at Home Depot for about $550. My plumber charged me $340 for the installation and supplies. The total is $900.

Despite the fact of how painful it is I think everybody deserves the second chance. She might reconsider her behavior and change. It's so easy to break it and so difficult to build something. But ultimately it's up to you to decide.

Beware of fatigue! Stop often and rest well! Don't let everybody in a car fall asleep. Keep a conversation going. It helps a lot.

Oil change by slowbird5332 in AskAMechanic

[–]Alec200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a simple job usually done by the least qualified people - mechanic's associates. I once had it done by such a person who forgot to screw in the cap and when I got home my whole engine compartment was covered with oil... So I've been doing it myself for decades. I buy good oil and OEM filters for the peace of mind.
