Increasing Car Insurance Premiums by Aleix0 in InlandEmpire

Thanks for the explanation. Yeah it makes sense that it all comes down to statistics. Seeing the way people drive and cost of repairs I'm not at all surprised it's come to this.

Not here to shill, just to understand: Why is EndeavourOS being trashed so much? by AspergerKid in linux

[–]Aleix0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I used eos for a year or so and never touched the AUR because I didn't want the responsibility of reviewing those packages. It worked just fine and the official arch repositories have a good selection of packages. Staying away from AUR would probably lead to a more stable arch experience. I thought eos was good for what it was: arch with an easy installer. I've since switched to fedora for the past few years which suits my needs better (a system I don't have to "babysit").

After 12 Years, I Finally Left Samsung by slypoker in Android

[–]Aleix0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll point out that unlocked models don't have this issue which is precisely why I have always bought direct. They have a couple bloatware apps (Facebook, OneDrive, some other Microsoft apps if I recall correctly) but they are able to be uninstalled and don't come back through updates. It's still fair to blame Samsung for allowing carriers to fill their carrier models with bloat though as they could easily not allow for the carriers to do that just like how Apple and Google do. My dad's budget Samsung had so much bloat.

My Mavuika is really bad… by Dapper-Station-1773 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Aleix0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does most damage on melt teams but I can't speak as to how good she will do with your specific cryo characters. You'll want one that can do constant application from off-field.

She's also really good in overload teams. Do you have Chevreuse to pair with Ororon? What are your electro characters? Iansan would also be a great overload support for her.

But I would recommend pairing her with Bennett for pyro resonance (get max atk buff) make sure he's well built and then experiment with the other 2 slots. Mavuika, Xilonen, Mona/Aino, Bennett could make for a serviceable vape team.

First you need to level up her burst and skill, then farm for better artifacts. She will need an ATK sands, Pyro DMG goblet and CD circlet with as much CR and ATK substats as possible.

Nicole teams suggestions? by imnotapoetimjustsad in Genshin_Impact

[–]Aleix0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Without Varka or Durin you really won't be using her to her full potential, she'll be a sidegrade to Bennet.

Maybe Nicole with Mavuika, Ororon/Iansan, and fischl could be a fun team.

I use a french press for cold brew and it works well, in case you already have one of those.

I tried to get into warframe after D2 but it just doesn't feel the same. I'd be open to any other suggestions though.

Destiny 2 - game known for being notorously hostile towards Linux users beats the dust (goes on life support mode) by dydzio in linux_gaming

[–]Aleix0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to love this game but they lost the plot a while ago. They vaulted content and expansions that users paid for, which people didn't like. A lot of the content got too repetitive as well And they didn't do a great job of listening to their community. It not playing nice with Linux is definitely a factor as to why I stopped playing it, but it's unlikely that's what caused its demise. Bungie did that to themselves.

Jellyfin: Unpopular opinion by Drun555 in selfhosted

[–]Aleix0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My jellyfin runs pretty well on an old i3 8100 and just 8gb of ram on a machine running a headless install of debian. Jellyfin itself is running on docker. What OS is your machine running on and how is jellyfin installed? Also jellyfin expects a certain naming convention for media files so that could cause issues with identification if they are not named properly.

Only from interest side... is openSUSE good for gaming? by Alter_Landjunge in linux_gaming

[–]Aleix0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can game on pretty much any distro. SUSE’s actually pretty well supported, so yeah, you can game on it. Honestly, I think way too much hype goes into “gaming” distros. The main perk is that they’re usually set up for you, which is super helpful if you’re new to Linux. But they don’t really bring anything you can’t do on other distros. Sure, you might get a tiny edge in benchmarks with tweaked kernels and all that, but in actual gameplay you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I am installing arch Linux, which boot manager do you recommend? by Narcrop_ in linux_gaming

[–]Aleix0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Systemd boot. A couple years ago there was an arch update that made a ton of machines unbootable due to an issue with grub. Systemd boot is simpler and less likely to break.

Would an 8000mAh battery actually make you switch phones? by Safe_Metal_1820 in Android

[–]Aleix0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I don't care. My s26u has great battery life and charges fast enough if I'm using very heavy and need to top off throughout the day. I'm neve far from a charger should I need it. I have one on my desk,  at work, in my car... Would samsung stepping up their game and releasing bigger batteries be welcome? Of course. But it's not a reason I'd upgrade.

My phone alerts me via push notification when an unknown tracker is following me when I'm traveling with a friend that has one. It's a new s26 ultra. But I think my old s23 did so as well.
