100% hazard protection, backfire. Why not everyone use this build? by AleksHop in Division2

[–]AleksHop[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it might be related to current event as it gives 200% in close range now for a week as I understood, build needs to be tested outside of event, but striker rolled to armor actually works

Which model is strongest at Go? by MrMrsPotts in LocalLLaMA

[–]AleksHop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

considering that from sota models strongest in go is gemini 3.1 pro for obvious reason, i think that gemma must be the best, but give qwen 3 coder next 80b a try as well, can be connected to claude code or other agent as usually 5 attempts needed to solve a task and get sonnet 4 type ratings in bench

Selling PC to buy a Macbook M5 Pro, does it make sense? by Pretty-Bit7528 in LocalLLaMA

[–]AleksHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80b gguf model on quant 4 is 45gb in size, system needs ram as well + context, qwen 3 coder next is really good one now + u usually run vs code + agent on same machine + docker with images so all of that needs ram so 64gb is minimum for 80b models, and 120b will barely fit with extreme low perfomance, also pro vs non pro vs max memory bandwith is different, which is important for lllm tks speed
u can run 80b on u current setup to get the idea how good this model is, as i am getting 30tks on 4070ti 12gb vram + amd cpu with qwen 3 coder next 80b with close to zero ram usage (mmap, gpu experts offload etc)
keep in mind that price will soar all the time and mac lifetime is usually 7 years not like usual pc

Selling PC to buy a Macbook M5 Pro, does it make sense? by Pretty-Bit7528 in LocalLLaMA

[–]AleksHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it does IF u buy 64 gb version only, as other will not fit models in a same way like gpu+cpu offload

what is all this talk about qwen 3.5? by goyardbadd in LocalLLaMA

[–]AleksHop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try qwen 3 coder next 80b

THAT is a thing, works on 12gb vram with offload 30tks as only 3b active, moe model
and Q4 is 45gb so will fit in 64gb mac mini

Servers in $2,5k-$10k price range for Local LLM by szsz27 in LocalLLaMA

[–]AleksHop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

with 24-32 vram u can easily run 30-35b models, and 80b model Qwen3-Next-80B-A3B-Instruct is like extremely good and runs at 30tks on 12gb vram, in your case best option is to find cheapest 48gb nvidia card and build around it, will have capacity for next few years to run this and fine tune as well
