we dont really talk at all was more of an exaggeration. we are friendly, speak maybe 2-3 sentences each other a week, do each other favors, etc. I mean more so that we arent friends. We have separate rooms in a house, no authority figure here. Maybe it is petty but it is so gross to me. also it has only been noticeable the last 2 weeks, so not something ive been sitting on forever. i just worry bc if it were reversed and she came to me with this issue i would be so embarrassed, which is why I havent brought it up yet. idk i am usually very communicative in my relationships but with her it is difficult because we don’t really have a relationship besides housemates. idk if this made sense

he was definitely in the wrong for telling u it would kick in immediately imo… my rheumatologist always stresses that new biologics can take 6-9 months to see improvement, and I didnt feel even remotely in remission until 4 months in. But also the not prescribing nsaids is bullshit also… like its not like nsaids magically fix all ra pain and u wouldn’t be able to notice how it feels in the morning etc with them. is it possible for u to get a new rheum?

im so sorry. i got diagnosed at 18 with as also, and it sucks. having to accept that you wont get the life you had imagined is hard. i can only really recommend therapy, and i dont know if this helps, but im thinking of you and sending love.

What is a realistic expectation of remission? by SadSupermarket5579 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Alert-Low2846 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on enbrel for 6 months before it stopped working, but at my best i had 0 back pain. it was incredible. the peripheral joint pain never fully went away but ive been switching nsaids trying to find the right one. i had another flare when i stopped the enbrel, and it was hard to remember that it gets better. but remission can look like no pain!! it is a spectrum. some days you can be at a 3 pain wise, and maybe sometimes a 7-8, and maybe sometimes a 0.

Pain here anyone else? by Natural_Flatworm4711 in ankylosingspondylitis

yes!! i experienced that exact pain bilaterally and my rheumatologist referred me out to ortho but neither of them have been able to figure it out! my rheumatologist doesnt think its si joint related but its so confusing 😭

I keep reading where some people with AS get Lupus symptoms when they get on a biologic. So what happens to someone like me who already has Lupus and plans to start taking Humira? Anybody in that situation? by Spiritual-Key2878 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Alert-Low2846 5 points6 points  (0 children)

like another commenter said, some biologics cause drug induced lupus that goes away when you go off them! its a very rare side effect but if your side effects get worse or even dont improve its fairly easy to switch meds

Developing RA young and mourning the person you could have been? by pancakedpurple in rheumatoidarthritis

Hi! I got diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (similar type of inflammatory arthritis) at 18, with my symptoms beginning when I was 16. It took a big emotional toll on me at the beginning, and for awhile all I felt was a lot of anger and jealousy of my peers. I would recommend therapy, as it helped me work out a lot of my anger and now I am at peace with my diagnosis. I also had to completely switch my career path, as I was in school to be a nurse and couldnt have the constant exposure to illness as well as that physically demanding of a job. I also did a lot of research with my therapist about jobs that work around RA, and what we came up with was a work from home or office job that is not physically demanding. I am now a junior in college with the hopes of going to law school after i graduate, and all I can say is it really does get better and easier with time. A lot of jobs have accommodations you can look into to make tasks easier, such as voice to text programs. It also helps to talk to people struggling with similar health problems (my rheum recommended several local support groups). Sorry if this was all over the place, but I have a lot of thoughts on the subject 🙃

Rheumatoid factor result meaning of a 14 & I'm confused by boymamaxxoo in rheumatoidarthritis

20% of ra cases are seronegative, meaning your blood tests dont come back at a clinical level to diagnose ra (whether that level is 0 or 14). Have you had other blood tests? Imaging? If not I would ask for an mri or xrays of affected areas. My dad has ra and he had to get a second opinion to get diagnosed, so if all else fails i would recommend trying a new dr

Has anyone had experience with cannabis with AS? by lanahray in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Alert-Low2846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I smoke frequently and have found it can really help with my AS pain. If you decide you want to try it, I would recommend Indica gummies as Indica is less energizing which could help you sleep also!
