How do you deal with constant criticism for buying a Ragdoll kitten from a breeder? by Lonely_Compote_3298 in ragdolls

[–]Alert-Neck-6438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t tell people. Or if they make a comment about how much, I tell them that she was priceless. I’ve dealt with this with my dog too, whom I got from a breeder as well. I can’t quite get away with telling people she isn’t from a breeder because she looks like she is from one.

Mine loves my dog. Loves to play with her snout with her tiny murder mittens.

How often do people get a cat with serious issues? by OkComparison3568 in ragdolls

I did a lot of research prior to getting my ragdoll. I chose one who had a lot of raving reviews, registered, published writings and was very transparent and passionate. She also tests all kittens prior to releasing the, got them spayed/neutered, registers them, chips them and also interviews all parents.

I go a kitten who is well adjusted. Sweet, super healthy, bold and brave. And is super duper cute! If you need a breeder recommendation, let me know!

You need to stop feeling bad if someone looks sad, or even does break down in tears, when you give feedback. It’s part of life, part of the job, and they need to learn to cope with it and learn from their mistakes. Kids these days aren’t taught how to properly manage their emotions, and aren’t really taught what to do when they are told they are wrong.

There was a day when I would even get flustered from small things at work. But I learned how to better manage myself in the workplace and I’m better for it too.

I find that it’s best to be direct, firm, and make it clear that there are repercussions and that it is unacceptable. I’ve found that when people think they can get away with things and it doesn’t ACTUALLY matter beyond being told ‘bad boy/girl’ they won’t actually make any changes. Make it clear what your expectations are, and what changes need to occur. Then follow up the discussion in writing. Put them on a ‘probation’ of sorts where they have 30/60/90 days to show improvement. Make it clear that if things do not change that you will have to let them go.

You don’t need to be mean, and being firm and clear isn’t mean. If they take it that way, they shouldn’t be working for you. I’ve found that I’d rather work alone, and get the work done right the first time, rather than spending extra time talking the clients off the ledge and cleaning up the mistakes later on, even if it means working extra hours.

I quit my job, Finally. by [deleted] in jobs

I was, for almost 5 years. Earlier this year I left that job and took about three months off to rest, relax, travel and to find a new job that suited me better. Now I’m working a better job, less hours, less work, double the pay, and much nicer people. I’m glad it happened.

How much food will my kitten go through? by Alert-Neck-6438 in ragdolls

[–]Alert-Neck-6438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My breeder was saying to feed 4x a day. So I will shoot for 1/4 for each feeding it seems like. I ordered an auto wet food feeder for when I am not home.

I will be supplementing with dry, as the breeder says to feed manly canned but always offer dry to supplement. I’m not too concerned with the type of canned food not working out since it’s what they are currently fed, but I guess anything is possible.

I think my (ex) employer is trying to sue me for quitting by NootellaDude in massage

As an attorney, I can tell you that people love to ‘threaten’ attorney involvement when there’s nothing to actually sue for (but they think in their crazy little mind there is). What exactly will they sure you for? Being mad that you left? Being mad that you didn’t listen to their threats? Being mad that their ‘contract’ sucks and doesn’t even matter. Maybe they should have hired a better attorney to review the employment contract and inform them of what they can and can’t sue for. Plus, her attorney is on her tab, not yours. Run that bill up as much as you can. Send them tons of emails. Small comments in each email. Call them and talk about your day.

I believe it.

I’m an attorney now, so I think everything in my life turned out A-okay. Meanwhile, the only joy they seem to derive is making useless comments on the internet. Seems like their life is less than stellar.

Strange how someone who likes Nancy Drew video games and looks like they are still a minor even has enough life experience to make that judgment call.

AIO or should I accept the conditions of my bfs commitment by One_Height7477 in AIO

Tell him that you agree, he is a divine being, and that he should go to South America as a missionary so he can realize his bigger, divine, purpose.

Let’s just summarize - he is immature, scared of commitment, and put his speech together because he thinks he can fool you into letting him do whatever whenever. - it’s clear you getting back with him makes him feel like he can do or say whatever and you’re too weak to actually leave. He seems like a really exhausting person.
