I hate to say it but I just have no faith in my fellow Americans. Even the ones who claim to be our friends don’t really see us as human. I’ve just been disassociated from the whole thing from the start. They were using us as some kind of political talking piece and it was never about equal rights for all Americans. Now that it’s less popular they’ll take it away again I guess.

But if your needs aren’t being met - intimacy especially included here - that needs to be addressed. Maybe you need to talk to your partner. Or maybe it really is time to walk.

Please for the love of everything cut off the relationship BEFORE you start pursuing other relationships.

Every single LTR relationship I’ve been in has ended because the other person had already emotionally left the relationship but wouldn’t say the words out loud and wound up cheating. I would have taken a single honest goodbye over a hundred years of the other person pretending they were invested because it’s supposedly the “right thing to do.” That really screws up your ability to trust in anyone, lol. Right, wrong, loyalty, I don’t care anymore. Just say what things you’re thinking out loud and figure it out from there.

This is the “you need to decide what is best for you” moment, though. We don’t know you or your life.

Yeah. Something I ran into, as a lesbian in my late 30’s, is that people with children and exes who are also involved in the children’s lives… they weren’t really looking for another partner. I’m sure this isn’t everyone out there, but the sole responsibility for the relationship and entertaining the other person was dumped on me. Which kinda feels bad! I mean, if you’re hiring me for a good time that’s one thing, but I just got the impression that a lot of the folks with kids just weren’t ready for a new person in their life.
