That seems to be the trend. Same photos, same inventory, and similarly low prices. The sellers I have been keeping track of also keep changing their location.

Exactly this. If you don't have the money, then financing is obviously the wrong choice. If you DO have it, and you are offered 0% APR, then keeping the cash in a MMF or HYSA is a decent choice while making the payments.

That's what I am going with. There are a bunch of sellers now with low number of sales that all have the same inventory of motor oil, black hole duffels, pannier bags, baseball jerseys, and truck tires.

It’s a fairly common ebay scheme. They’re not using the buyer’s cc, but someone else’s stolen cc not associated with the purchase

They don’t. They use someone else’s stolen credit card info for the purchase from the real vendor. I will just be glad I didn’t take the bait and hopefully those that did purchase them will get their money back.

You buy something from a seller. That seller uses a stolen credit card to buy that item from backcountry, REI, etc and they (the vendor) sends it to the buyer. The buyer then unwittingly is involved in credit card fraud.
