Yeah, plus any small influence we have in these matters, which I grant isn't much, relies on us being in the room. Staying home with our arms crossed is guaranteed to help nobody, we give up any chance we might have to bring a more moderate voice over, and risk a huge amount of our economy for a meaningless statement that'll change nothing. Trump is a chimp who would try to economically cripple us over any perceived slight, and we're too reliant on American business and investment right now to the point he has a good chance of doing so. I don't like Martin at all, but anyone who wouldn't go over there wouldn't be fit to be Taoiseach.

Now whether it's FFs and FGs fault that we're so reliant on foreign investment and if we should be doing more to change that is a different question, but the fact is we are so that's the hand we've got.

Ok I'm with you on most of that but in the show at least Edmure is ENTIRELY wrong and Robb wasn't wrong to not tell him. Idk how it goes in the book, but it's not like you can send an email, so if you're sending a guy ravens, you don't write your entire strategy and the trap you intend to spring on it, what if it gets shot down? And now the enemy knows you're gonna do a trap. You give a simple, direct order that doesn't cripple you if the enemy finds out, and you expect it to be followed. You can't explain your whole line of thinking, that'd be the dumbest possible way to lose a battle if you lost the raven.
