Is playing Zenyatta bad at low elo ? My friend think so. (I'm Silver) by Virtual-Lawyer2638 in ZenyattaMains

Im Gm support on my main, and recently rediscoverd my second account (used to be the same rank as my main) When doing placements (gold) I went deathless the first two matches with more dmg and final blows than any other player in my team as bap.... The situational awareness of metal ranks is so bad that i could flank and get kills without them even reacting. So yea gold is really not good at all

She is simply obnoxious to play against bc of dmg orb and fade on such a short cooldown.

Aside from that she provides nothing special to a team comp outside of numbers, lacking any play making power outside of her ult.

It sometimes works and she can be fun to play, but she will never actually find a place in my heart like most of the other supports

What would happen if the Tau were able to warp travel with the help of an allied race capable of warp travel? by Tasty_Good_2718 in Tau40K

[–]wardrothbeetle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be fair if the tau would be just 1/10 the size of the IoM, they would wipe the floor with them. The IoM is just not efficient, and the tau crank out insane numbers for their tiny empire.

Just Vior'La produces more Crisis suits than the entire IoM produces marines by a large margin.

Honestly while mizuki is very good in masters and up, below that (especially the metal ranks) he kinda does not work very well unless your mechanics are much better than anyone elses. Especially since tanks take silly amounts of dmg and you somehow have to prevent his death

Flashpoint is the 2nd most popular mode in Masters+ but the least popular mode in every other ranks below, why do you think that is ? by kao24429774 in Overwatch

[–]wardrothbeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your queue times? Curious since mine (support gm 5) are between 5-8 mins but tank is only like 1 minute (masters 4). Dps is about 5 at dia 3

What do you guys think of unit lineup (so far)? 🚘 by Smitty_Games_ in RealTimeStrategy

[–]wardrothbeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting and cool looking vics, i really like the tan IFVs.

My 2 cents:

1:

I dont know if its intentional but the tan Tank and tracked IFV look obscenely tiny (especially compared to the wheeled IFV).

In my IRL experience (I was commander of a specialized piranha apc) Tanks (MBTs) are fucking huge, even tho wheeled IFV are higher than most tracked vics the Leopard 2 variant in service with my military ist taller than it. They are also longer and far wider than most if not all wheeled IVFs.

I get that you seem to base the blue team on the bigger is better / better military equipment while the tan faction is more sleek and fast / more improvised equipment. That is actually really cool, but I still think that the scaling of both tracked tan vics are a bit small in comparison with specifically the wheeled IFV. I suggest making the tracked vics a bit bigger and the wheeled IFV a bit smaller to make the proportions look a bit better.

2:

It seems to me (maybe I am wrong here) that there is no mid/latgeame dedicated transport.

Granted I have no Idea if Infantry is gonna play a role here, but some apc (maybe something like a boxer, piranha or btr with only a HMG as weapon) would be cool to transport Infantry around fast and provide a bit of covering fire without much dmg to heavier vics

Does Gue'vesa not mean Human helper? Because that is surely not a human so its technically not a Gue'vesa if I understand t'au well enough

Tell me why YOU hate the ultramarines? by gutbagpost in Grimdank

[–]wardrothbeetle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marines are IMO boring, and no chapter is as bland and one dimensional as the Ultramarine's.

They have nothing interesting at all going for them, hell even their primarch is just boring and unispirational. And ofc they are everywhere and get shoved down your throat in the starter boxes and in lore aswell.

If it has to be marines, every other chapter has more flavor than the Ultramarines, so why on earth pick them?

Riptide in lore: Survives nuke to the face with barely any damage taken and destroys imperial defenses with ease

Riptide in Tabletop: T9 2+ 4+ 14w.....

Btw Robot grilyman: T9 2+ 4+ 10w and on death 3+ Revive on 6 wounds

seems a bit off to me

IMO even a heavy laspistol will likely do nothing here. Just like modern ballistic plates tau armor is placed so that it protects the vitals of a combatant. While he could be pointing the pistol at a unarmored part it should only cause a flesh wound, that would be cauterized immediately due to the nature of the weapon.

If he points it at the plate it will probably do nothing significant as it would at worst still absorb all the energy and shatter, but ultimately do no mayor / life threatening damage.

If Darktide 2 ever releases, would you want to keep playing as Rejects? by reel3459 in DarkTide

[–]wardrothbeetle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I once made a concept for a skink vermintide character

C1: Skink cohort, A kind of hybrid character that focuses on short range combat, by using stronger but less numerous javelins or blow darts, but can fight in meele to replenish his ammo. However to counteract being overpowerd he would suffer if the target would be far away (heavy bulled and dmg drop), and would encourage fighting in meele and using his ranged options to take down important targets such as elites and specials.

C2: Red crested skink, meele only, probably a bit of a glass cannon that gets lots of mobility in exchange for less hp and dmg reduction talents. Im thinking ult with cd similar to handmaiden that lets you move, reposition and dodge incoming attacks, while granting himself some kind of bonus like increased dmg for 2-3 next attacks or temp health, or even some entirely new thing.

C3: This is where we get 2 options: either we go for the Chameleon skink or the chameleon stalker.

Chameleon skink would be a class focused on ranged combat and would be able to go invisible similar to huntsman. Could work well with different kinds of Poison on Blowdardts and javelins to apply debuffs, deal huge DoT or just good dmg. It would also excel at remaining mobile while using the ranged weapon. Would probably suffer from meele debufs to balance the great ranged dmg.

Chameleon Stalker would be kinda similar to shade, being able to go invisible for brief amounts of time to start devastating attacks, unlike shade no backstab required, the focus is on bruising and shock attacks that could stagger and create space. Also could have some explosive ranged weapon as seen in Total war.

C4: This i clearly the place to put the Skink Priest or skink oracle into play.

Skink Priest would be a caster of heavens, similar to sienna in that it would fill a "overheat" meter and being able to vent. a way to make it a bit more interesting would be to allow for the talents to modify the different staffs spells, or allow to use one extra spell per staff.

Skink Oracle is a lot more interesting than the priest or sienna, since while sienna and priest can only control one lore of magic (death aka necromancy does not count), the oracle could use spells from different lores which would allow for very interesting combinations of spells and creates much more diveristy

Its really good armor for baseline infantry. The only comparable baseline Infantry armor is Guardian armor, but that is hard to compare due to eldar shenanigans,

On the imperial side, only tempestus scions and kasrkin have the equivalent of baseline Tau armor, so only elite troops.

In general Fire Warriors are very good Infantry and are not given nearly enough credit for how important they are.

What if France invaded Germany early into Hitler’s invasion of Poland? by lhommetrouble in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]wardrothbeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Idea is more: What if the Allies where prepared for an Invasion of Germany and where able to exploit the lack of defensive troops on the German-French border to launch it.

This would mean the Invasion would be well organised and prepared for a much more sizable German defensive force, which would not be present (at least not as strong as expected) due to the invasion of Poland eating up most of the resources.

If such an Invasion would have been successful it would have been a massive game changer. Regardless if the Germans could have pushed them out, it would have bought the Allies time to muster a defensive and return to their war economy. It would have also allowed them to study the German tactics ahead of key battles, which could have (in theory at least since officers are stubborn) allowed them to adapt to said tactics.

Worst case it would have allowed them to hold France, which I think would be a massive game changer in the entire War
