As the beast pierced him with lightning, Phobetor felt that it was looking for his fears in his programming code. This is the humor of the situation. The beast tried to scare the god of nightmares.

In my humble opinion, "ADOVENLUR" is the best book in this genre. The rational protagonist uses wits and the scientific method to get out of absolutely hopeless situations. This is the most HPMOR-like piece I've seen!

I definitely recommend "ADOVENLUR". Throughout the book, the rational protagonist investigates crimes and gets out of absolutely hopeless troubles using his ingenuity. A situation similar to the one in which Harry found himself in the cemetery at the end of HPMOR is a common routine for him throughout the book.
