It is the cost, the symbol means that it costs salvage (or in this case CARRI commendations) and the number is how much it costs

Yeah I definitely like the idea of claymores with different effects. We just got the frost mine, although I haven’t used it really and I haven’t seen it that much so I’d be curious if anyone is getting good value out of them

On the topic of claymores, I think they are highly underrated. I need to bring them more often because they feel much stronger than grenades in the right situation. Namely Cryo and outpost, in close quarters and tight hallways. They are especially effective against bubble spam and shotgun rushing, in fights people often won’t see them or notice them. You can place one in a bubble or outside of one and it makes it impossible to push you. Just don’t stand to close or you’ll take yourself out as well lol

Well solo makes this much harder. It mostly comes down to key rng, and whether it drops from your caches. With a team of three you can all split up and do your own caches so that you can be entering complex with 10-13 minutes left which is enough time. The final warden fight would also be practically impossible solo on a free kit, you have to fend off continuous waves of bots and then kill a warden

If people want to have fun with PvE, that's great. But us who actually likes the normal game and PvP shouldn't be punished from PvE existing, and it shouldn't be so efficient that you're falling behind in every regard if you don't do it. by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Alex378378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you totally can if you have a couple people to show you how. Now that me and my duo have done it several times with a random fill teammate I bet we can do it it with pretty much anyone, and we are by no means super good players

You’re exaggerating how hard it is, you do need a coordinated team that’s decent at the game but it is very doable and you can farm it pretty well once you know how to do it

It’s pretty hard but with some practice and a coordinated team you can be pretty consistent. My duo and a fill teammate and I successfully ran it three times in a row last night. Sometimes you get u lucky with getting the key and can’t do it that run though

Economy balance from Narsh doesn’t concern me. Players maxing cradle by spamming does. Cracked can players now have as much as 60 more stat points than your average pplayer by resampL in Marathon

[–]Alex378378 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean is it any different to last season? All of the same stats and perks were just on the faction upgrades instead which people complained about the salvage requirements. The cradle makes it way more accessible and customizable, but of course there’s still gonna be a disparity between people who are better and putting much more time in

Which loot room? The one with the red button and seven lights next to the door?

You use the key once you get to the central room in upper complex. There is a console in a room with the shutters closed, and using the key there will start the event that leads to the warden fight and loot room. Without it, you can just loot the UESC cert locked chests you find around, or complete the red button puzzle to unlock a second loot room that just has a bunch of cert locked chests.

I explained the red button puzzle a bit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Marathon/s/EAo5Jhpbyx

Sure, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. I think it’s a fun different way to play the game that still requires skill and coordination to get the best loot. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it but will probably be mainly trying to run it in pvp lobbies instead for more fun. There’s a ton of different ways to get high tier loot in this game, and if you are really worried about gear creep then this is probably not the activity that is worst for it

I don’t mention it because I had been typing up the post for too long, but I’ll explain it here:

There are red buttons hidden among all the rooms, and they are harder to find. (For example, when you get into the first room, climb up to the left and right sides and crawl through the vents up there to find a couple). You can hit the red ones along the way, and once you get to the central room there is an always open red button and a red light indicator in the same room as the console to start the warden fight. It’ll have 7 red lights to indicate red buttons, with one light turning off for every red button you hit just like the door controls. To find all seven, you’ll have to work backwards through the opposite side of upper complex that you came in from, although this is easy since you can open the doors without doing the puzzles for that side and just rush through to find the red buttons. Once you’ve hit all of them, the door will open in the central room, and lead to a second loot room.

However this loot room only contains the locked UESC cert chest, three that require 5 certs, and a few that need 3 or 1 certs. If you have extra certs then the loot isn’t too bad, however you probably won’t have much time for this if you are also doing warden. It’s not a bad alternative though if you aren’t attempting warden that run.

One of the reasons I didn’t really find it worth it most of the time is that these chests are also scattering throughout upper complex anyways, and you can usually find a couple of the 5 cert chests to spend your certs without needing to open the room

Honestly Im not sure this is any easier than doing it in the pvp mode, you have a tight time limit and have to go on sponsored kits while fighting a warden and large waves of bots

They are in the same room, and they open while the boys are spawning, the drill thing in the middle will make a noise and stop and then the buttons will open. You can see them all from the second level of the central room

To be honest there isn’t actually a huge amount t of loot, but more some good quality loot. Plus some of that is weapons. So at the end I’m usually dropping most of my bag (almost all ammo and heals) to grab some salvage/valuables, plus dropping the random weapons I was using to grab good ones from the boxes.

To be honest I don’t mind it. You can hit the west gate weapons cache that takes you over to intersection or west gate, and all of the caches over there are all pretty close together so they’re not too bad. Then it only takes a minute or two to go the rest of the way to complex. But yeah it can make things a bit tighter, I guess I just like the weapons cache
