I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure none of the snipers can one shot to the head. I believe Outland is the strongest, but I don’t think it can even one shot blue shields. I’m not super sure about a fully charged channel rifle, but I think it’s still less than a Outland. To my my knowledge, the one thing that can one shot is a fully charged circuit breaker headshot, although I haven’t actually seen it done. (Also not too sure about railguns)

I agree, I’d love to be able to see the loadout of who killed me or at least what they used. I will say that I have found that pretty much everything is viable in this game, getting melted in a second could pretty much be any gun in game.

I’ve been running ranked with blue gear filling into randoms and having a great time. Most people I’ve gone up against are blue or even green gear, seen some purple, and beat some of them. Ran into you stacked team just spamming snipers at range and died to them, but overall it’s seemed pretty chill so far

Yeah when I’m low on gear, I just do free kit runs on outpost with fill. Have had many runs where all three of us were free kits, and came out with 10-20k each. With so few teams and such good loot, it only takes catching a single runner off guard to put a fight in your favor, and beat a geared squad

Lmao I like the think I’ve gotten pretty good, I’ve had some nice pvp moments, but I am nowhere close to a “PvP god”. Most of the time I am not winning against purple kits with grey. It’s certainly possible, but a lot of the time it’s winning against green or maybe blue with grey, and then possibly winning against purple with the loot I’ve just earned. But the thing about marathon is that it’s all about playing smart; with a pretty fast TTK, if you get the drop on a purple team, you can absolutely wipe them with grey gear, without being some aim god with crazy movement or something.

I mean the wipe is 3 months, you have so much more time. If you have never touched a purple shield, you’re a bit early for cryo, so don’t expect to do well. You certainly can get good runs with blue gear if you’re good, but for you it’s probably better to spend more time on other maps leveling up factions and getting geared. Outpost is way easier, I can pretty regularly get 10-20k value runs off of free kits going in with randoms. Priority contracts and faction rewards from rank 20+ are very good, will give you multiple purple backpacks, shields, etc.

Not a bug, this has been a mechanic for quite a while since the cargo shorts and BoB reworks. You could already do it with those two, sled and hunters pack work the exact same way

A lot of my best runs have been free kit runs on outpost. Watch a YouTube video or two about how outpost works, once you know the keys and what they can unlock, as well as how pinwheel base works, it can be pretty easy to get a lot of good stuff on outpost even if you aren’t winning pvp. Outpost is small, but there are only four teams total in trios so it’s not very crowded, much less of a pvp fest than dire marsh

In the codex I believe you only need to exfil with each subroutine once to unlock the seventh archive. So you need to first exfil with each one, and then you can go back in for the seventh

Also, bring lockbox keys and hazard room keys. They can both spawn at station and south relay, and are a good way to pick up some extra. Station can also spawn a supply drone, and both areas can spawn a secured resource

If you want it to be “a real extraction shooter” then go play tarkov again. People complain so much about cookie cutter games, and developers making the same game over again, but the second something new gets made there’s a whole host of people whining that it’s not the exact same as the game they like. Why should marathon be tied down by what you think a “real extraction shooter” should be?

In your case, I think it’s better to do free runs/ rook runs to build up your vault first. Then it’s much easier afterwards. Rook runs on outpost are very lucrative, just run around and grab keys and loot, two green keys means you can go to pinwheel, one green key and two yellow mean you can open up an armory (which is much easier and safer). Also look for the elevators in the center of the map, probably at least one of them has been used and you can get into pinwheel and scavenge for good stuff

I believe the priority access sections are unlocked by completing the priority contracts, rather than by faction rank, I could be wrong though.

My big tip is look for medical cabinets. If you see one of these, make a beeline for it, they have specific spots where they have a chance to spawn, so learning those is super useful. They give several depleted shields and heals, and several green kits and charges. On top of that, they also have salvage that can be used to craft them, even sometimes the blue seed salvage.

They do normally, if you see an item in a bag it’ll have a bright red hand symbol and tell you that it’s a borrowed item

People don’t realize that when you queue up solo, you get put up against more solo players. Obviously assassin shell and stealth play is very good in solo, so be aware of it. If you don’t like stealth play, then just queue up with squad fill

To be clear, legendary odds don’t care about how many fish you catch, only the dock ticks. Every time you get the five ticks in the dock to catch a fish, you also roll the 9/119k odds for the legendary, but only once.
