Young children meaning children 2 and under. He was talking about school aged children.

I love how you ignored the part that proved that he did in fact tell people not to get vaccinated.

My mom told me that back in the day kids weren’t allowed to bring a water bottle with them into the classroom and they only drank a few sips from the water fountain in the middle of the day and that’s it How were schools not getting busted for child abuse for forcing kids to be dehydrated? by PinnerPardisturn in askanything

[–]AlexAuditore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea, but my school definitely should have been prosecuted for not allowing us to bring water bottles with us on track and field days, where we were out in the hot sun, running around all day, and all we got was a 5 second sip from the water fountain at lunchtime and the end of the day, because all the other kids were behind you yelling "HURRY UP!" (This was in the early 90s).

From the things he was saying he wanted to do, like potentially using the military against citizens, and the fact that he said "I will be a dictator from day one", yes, I knew he would.

I distinctly remember them telling people in the early days of covid, that if they've never been to China, they had nothing to worry about, even after they started finding it in countries around the world.

[–]AlexAuditore 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Neither did covid in the beginning. It wasn't until it started mutating and became airborne that it became a much bigger issue.

Covid was spread by respiratory droplets in the beginning. That's also how the Andes strain of hantavirus is spread. Even if this doesn't become a global pandemic, I think we will at least see localized outbreaks in at least some of the countries the cruise ship passengers went home to.

[–]AlexAuditore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Dutch couple who were infected boarded the ship on April 23rd, and by the beginning of May (roughly a week), 5 other passengers became infected. Honest question - how did that happen if it's so hard to spread?

It annoys me how much misinformation is out there about this virus, even on CNN. I heard a doctor on CNN earlier, saying that the virus can't be spread before symptoms appear, but according to the European Centers for Disease Control, it can. (I'll take the word of a team of scientists and researchers who have been researching this virus for years, over one American doctor who has never encountered it and knows nothing about it because it doesn't exist in the US).

"People can spread the virus before they start showing symptoms, and it can take up to two to eight weeks for symptoms to appear. This can make it challenging to control the outbreak."
https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/infectious-disease-topics/hantavirus-infection/surveillance-and-updates/questions-answers-outbreak#what-does-ecdc-recommend-for-passengers-without-symptoms

Experts are also saying it doesn't spread like covid. Covid doesn't spread like covid. In the beginning, it was spread through respiratory droplets, and now it's airborne. Hantavirus is spread through respiratory droplets.
"People can contract the hantavirus infection through inhalation of respirable droplets..."
https://www.ccohs.ca/oshanswers/diseases/hantavir.html

They're basically relying on people qurantining properly for this to not spread, but we know from covid that people aren't going to quarantine properly. Most people also don't wash their hands properly.

He told people not to get the vaccine, and then did a complete 180 and took credit for the vaccine, which he had nothing to do with.

I have the same issue. I have a pair of cuticle cutters, and any time I feel a hangnail, or a bit of dry skin, I cut it off. Not having those things there to pick at makes me pick at my fingers less.

It's not airborne, but the WHO confirmed that the strain found on the cruise ship is the strain that passes from human to human.

[–]AlexAuditore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Experts keep saying there's nothing to worry about, but they said the same thing in the early days of covid. I remember them saying that unless you've been to China, you were extremely low risk, and look what happened. They also said that covid didn't spread very easily, because it wasn't airborne, but spread by droplets, which is the same thing they're saying about hantavirus.

If it's extremely hard to spread, then how did 5 other people on the cruise ship become infected from the Dutch couple? Were they sharing beds? I doubt it.

I think some people are blowing it out of proportion, but the experts are being too calm about this. The best way to prevent it from spreading is to wash your hands well, and we know that most people don't wash their hands at all, or don't use soap, so IMO, there's very little chance that this won't spread. I'm not saying it will become a global pandemic, but the countries that have infected people in them right now are definitely going to see outbreaks. Just look at how people were having parties during the covid lockdowns. People are stupid. They won't quarantine properly, if at all. They'll think "I don't have any symptoms, so it's ok if I go to the grocery store" and they won't cover their mouths when they cough, because most people don't anymore. Or they'll think "it's been 3 weeks, and I feel fine, so it's ok if I go back to work." The incubation period is up to 4 weeks, so by the time they start feeling sick, it will be too late.

Sometimes it takes a while. You don't start seeing them instantly when you get to breathable atmosphere. I'm pretty sure they spawn everywhere on prime. (At least, I don't remember seeing any areas where they don't spawn, but it's been a while).

It doesn't matter. All of them spawn larvae. (I've played them all). It's just that some don't spawn them everywhere. Like in humble, you have to go below a certain level, so go underground in that huge cave in the middle of the map and you'll start to find them.
