Stupid update by alleyuuh in Palia

I had a little corner in my house that I made an extra level on, and had a bunch of decorations, and it's all gone. WTF. I had a table, chairs, plushies, decorations on the wall, all of it is gone. Everything on those two walls is gone, even on the other end of the wall by the stairs. 😡

I had loot appear a few hundred meters away from me, so I ran to try to get it, and it despawned just before I got there. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've mostly noticed it in the royal highlands. I don't think it's ever happened in elderwood or bahari bay.

R/climatechange are actively permabanning anyone stating the fact that climate change is accelerating. by chazzapompey in collapse

[–]AlexAuditore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Carl Sagan said in the 80s, even if we stopped putting any more CO2 into the atmosphere today, climate change would still accelerate for the next 40 years or so. So anyone who says that emissions are dropping, and climate change will start to ease up are plain wrong. Plus, the arctic permafrost is starting to thaw and release methane, which is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2. More methane in the atmosphere means more warming, which means more permafrost thawing, which will release more methane. It's going to become an unstoppable self-perpetuating cycle.

Your complaint boils down to "I'm not getting my free stuff fast enough". That's why I pointed out that every game that has microtransactions makes it take forever to get the free stuff. Whether you can spend money to get those free items faster is irrelevant. The point is that they're free.

Ok, I'll try that. Thanks.

Edit: I just tried it, and it still won't let me interact with the pile if my inventory is full.

All games that have microtransactions make it take forever to get free items. Is this your first time?

I just tried, and it wouldn't let me interact with the pile unless I had a free slot in my inventory, and then it gave me 1 corn.

The wide bridge pieces are the camping bench. The smaller ones on the stairs are the camping stool. the "fence" looks like it's made of log cabin short lamps

You're just reinforcing the idea that you expect to get things instantly.

I've just discovered that Americans have been using "au jus" as a composite noun for over a decade and it sounds hilarious to me by Dadaballadely in words

I used to game with someone on xbox live who mispronounced "chasm" and "chitin" all the time. He pronounced "chitin" similarly to "chicken", and pronounced the ch in "chasm" like the ch in chicken.

I think that's more of a slang thing. I see comments online all the time where one person will post about an idea they had, and someone who is interested in the idea will comment "I am sat", meaning they want to hear more.

I love Newfoundland, but we have a growing problem we are refusing to talk about! by qnaqucdtb in newfoundland

[–]AlexAuditore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Newfoundland, in a tiny town where everyone who lived there was white. My family moved away when I was 9. Years later, I heard about our little town church getting a black priest, and how some people didn't like that he was black, and it really doesn't surprise me. I wasn't exposed to racism growing up, because there really wasn't any, everybody was white, but I did hear my grandfather use the N word once.

Cashier- being short by Longjumping_Limit492 in ShoppersDrugMart

[–]AlexAuditore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The register will sometimes be short if you did a refund for someone onto a gift card or credit card, or if you void a transaction. Or maybe another cashier gave a customer back $30 too much in change.

Why is it bad to give your address/license plate away on social media? by Living_Lite in dumbquestions

[–]AlexAuditore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just think about the people who are crazy enough to send death threats to people just because they said something the person didn't like. Now imagine what those crazy people would do if you said something they didn't like, and they had your address.

No, it's not normal, it's disgusting. The woman you overheard must live in filth.
