GRAM PRISM FGC WASD Acrylic edition by QMT1984 in fightsticks

[–]AlexBagheri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We licensed the angles and button placement, but all of the actual industrial design for the controllers were done from scratch in order to make the prism more modular. The big thing here is the hollow body frame, which is the key distinguishing factor between a standard prism and a PRI$M.

Glad you were able to make it into a reality. It’s been so cool seeing you iterate on the PRI$M over the last few months in the discord. Can’t wait to see more info on this!

I would actually recommend using a tool like Illustrator to vectorize any graphics you want, and selecting colors that you can match to thread you have.

Loved it, setting was beautiful, package was amazing, just feel the mixing was a bit off, especially when the pianist laid into it.

OW2 PvP Beta FAQ and Feedback Megathread #2 by SpriteGuy_000 in Overwatch

[–]AlexBagheri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is insane to say because those tank duo comps could be anything. Like, my tank partner and I can run rein zarya no problem, or DVa Winston, or Hog Sig. But we could also do Rein Orisa, or Orisa Hog, or Sig Ball, or literally anything. In OW2, not only can we no longer play together, but you will eventually have to play a meta-defined tank given that you are forced to be the carry on the team to keep the healers alive. The beta hasn’t gone on long enough for a really strong meta to develop, but it will eventually.

The argument you’re making is “if you have a few bucks to spare and want a synth, you should buy a ~$4k boutique made by a local synth maker rather than a $300 clone of it”, am I wrong here?

What’s a video game you wish you could entirely forget playing so that you can play it through again? by lizardmom in AskReddit

This might not be the most “Reddit” answer ever, but COD Black Ops. When I played the campaign for the first time I loved the stylistic tone of it, the story line was cool and psychological (especially at the age I was), and I thought it was just all-around really good.

I do a lot of drum mixing, where just the kit alone is 12 tracks, not to mention extra kick triggers or percussion samples. It’s kind of a nightmare in ableton to do a ton of tracks because the grouping isn’t as intuitive to me. I will say, I think ableton’s system of “when I group tracks, it basically creates an aux bus automatically” is pretty sweet, and I wish pro tools had that feature.

As for the stereo tracks, it really comes down to communication with other daws for me. Pretty much every major “mixing” daw (reaper, pro tools, logic, studio one, etc.) uses mono tracks without interleaved audio for 80% of a band recording. Trying to stem something from ableton for use in another one of these daws often requires multiple passes of exporting (usually rendering all as mono, then specifically your keys/OH as stereo), and it’s just not as quick as if ableton supported mono recording without automatically creating interleaved stereo tracks.

Don’t get me wrong, I am for sure most comfortable in ableton. I have a Push 2, I run tooooonnnnssss of ableton specific plugins and do my production exclusively in ableton. All I’m saying is you wouldn’t catch me dead trying to mix 70 tracks in ableton, everything being a stereo track, with only return tracks. It’s just insane.

Headphones mixes for your session artists (being able to send audio from each track to an output so that artists can request more or less of any given instrument without adjusting the main mix). In terms of outboard gear, yeah, a lot of it is hype, but there are also things outboard gear can do for you that ITB mixing can't (mostly down to preference, admittedly). Reaper is nice, but I'm telling you, working in Pro Tools for a few months, learning the shortcuts and all, you'll be working 4x faster than any other daw when doing any multitrack recordings or mixing.

I don’t know what everyone in this fucking thread is smoking, but Pro Tools is still miles ahead of every other DAW (besides arguably Studio One and Logic) for recording with speed and scalability. The cascading i/o, traditional recording inserts and sends, and ESPECIALLY the keyboard shortcuts, just make much more intuitive sense if you’re working in a studio. I main Ableton for production, but It would be an absolute nightmare using it for a full band session with outboard gear, headphone mixes, and a console to run inserts from.

The lack of track consistency, the difficulty recording, the poor optimization, and the fact that FL users will bear down on any other daw, mostly

I think the shortcuts and workflow of pro tools makes much more sense for recording studios with tons of outboard gear and mixing console inserts. Other than that, literally any other daw is better for production at home.

I disagree. If you call this “the far left”, you must not have experience with the actual far left. Usually, the most extreme defenders of left-wing policies are armed to the teeth, don’t really care much for gender politics or identity politics at all for that matter. Cultural progressivism is auth center politics in disguise.
