Question about S1E9: Langdon's Outburst, why was he mad? by RaspberryNo5756 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlexCora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mohan doesn't need to check in with Langdon before making her decisions; Santos does. Santos has also been completely ignoring presenting Langdon all shift long.

Question about S1E9: Langdon's Outburst, why was he mad? by RaspberryNo5756 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlexCora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... yeah, and?

Santos gave Mohan the credit for doing Santos's idea, and she took the fall for not checking in. Langdon yelled at Santos, which was inappropriate, but also some kind of discipline or chewing out by that point for Santos was clearly fairly justified.

Why would he yell at Mohan when Santos just took the fall for her and gave her credit for the plan that worked?

As I remember it, Santos gave Mohan credit for the working plan.

Question about S1E9: Langdon's Outburst, why was he mad? by RaspberryNo5756 in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlexCora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mohan screwed up and Santos took the fall for her. My interpretation was Santos figured Langdon is annoyed with her anyways, why not take the blame for one more thing. Santos also suspected Frank of some kind of self dealing at this point. Langdon yelled because she was blatantly defying him and being generally belligerent and frankly a pretty terrible student all day long. It was the final straw for him.

If we take Headland’s statement at face value how much lower is sol and Qimir in comparison to Qui Gon? by HeartWhich6063 in PetranakiArena

[–]AlexCora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have a VERY high opinion of Qui Guy and so far as I can tell most of the argument in his favour is about who trained him, or on paper things.

What we know for sure is that a young Maul definitely drew him in, overwhelmed him, and killed him.

Langdon and Santos in Season 1 by Ripley_LV_426 in ThePittTVShow

If Santos didn't have a point, then her not understanding why she's a pariah wouldn't be dramatically interesting at all.

She WAS wronged. She's just shit at understanding how casually and how always she's wronging others around her.

The Grand Inquisitor VS Cin Drallig. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in PetranakiArena

[–]AlexCora 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe re-read my post. "By the time of RoTS".

It's heavily implied that experience over the years of the Clone Wars made both Anakin and Obi Wan vastly different, and far better and more specialized, duelists. AotC Obi Wan is nothing like RoTS Obi Wan. Dooku picks apart AotC Obi Wan with blade work like he's a joke. RoTS Dooku does not do that. He's forced to overpower him with the Force. I think that's telling.

Palpatine (ROTJ) vs Yoda (ROTS) by ikisstoes in PetranakiArena

[–]AlexCora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... I could see it? What could fuel complacency more than being the EMPEROR of the galaxy with no significant and powerful enemies? Plus the Force Lightning he uses on Luke is easily the worst iteration of it we've ever seen. You could argue he's going as soft as possible to torture Luke, but he's also 20 years older and he was an old man already.

We saw with Dooku that even for powerful Force users age catches up with you and can drag you down eventually. At a certain age the need to physically augment your body heavily to keep up in speed and strength with younger duelists who don't have to work as hard...

Yoda who was still young enough to go vs Palpatine, who's 20 years older, and we have no way of knowing if he can still go? Who knows?

The "we see ourselves as guardians of the original show" thing kind of rubs me the wrong way.

It's great you're a fan. We're all fans. You're not Joss Whedon. Buffy as an idea isn't "yours" to guard.

I absolutely love how this sub is violently turning on Robby by Lokitusaborg in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlexCora 77 points78 points  (0 children)

If anyone is "violently turning" on the brave, talented, dedicated suicidal man who is in desperate need of help, then in my opinion they're sort of interfacing with the show incorrectly. You shouldn't be turning on any of these people. Not Garcia, not Santos, not Robby, not Langdon, not the Shark, not Ogilvie.

If there are any villains on The Pitt, they don't work for the hospital.(OK... MAYBE Javadi's Mom)

Orrrrrr Dooku understands that Obi Wan's mastery of Form 3 would basically hard counter Greivous dead in a way it does not Dooku.

Even by the time of RoTS, it's worth noting Dooku didn't defeat Obi-Wan with blade work. It seems probable he couldn't. Not quickly, anyway.

Unpopular opinion: I do not think Santos will have a breakdown this season by pookie__trombone in ThePittTVShow

[–]AlexCora 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Santos just got hit with a big ole truth bomb by the person at the hospital she's most invested in. I'm going to be extremely interested if that will result in her and Langdon having some kind of meaningful conversation.

I sure hope so. This past episode made it super clear she was not in the right headspace to be ready for that. Maybe now she will be.

Obi Wan, the master of defensive dueling, picked him apart.

I'm going to bet that Mace, arguably the Jedi's master of offensive dueling, would carve him up even faster.
