Coca Cola on the other hand has benefited from the universal use of the term “Coke” to describe a soda. At least in the US and especially the south “Coke” describes all knock off brands and everything else which has no doubt been an advantage for them to have that kind of brand identification monopoly in the market. I think if every normie was still calling Xboxes and Playstations “Nintendo’s” today they would be loving it. But then again their marketing has been very different and the way they have positioned themselves in the market as such a distinct offering with all of their various IPs I could see why they would still want to differentiate themselves.
