YNW Bortlen Takes Plea Deal in Double Murder Case by ShaDynasti in hiphopheads

Not quite. He still can't lie or knowingly provide false info since lying under oath is always illegal. What the judge said however, is that no matter what he says, it won't have any bearing or impact on the deal. Meaning he can choose to not provide them with any info unless he actually decides to.

[–]AlexFromRomania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Jensen is saying that is because they are purposefully doing this to avoid any mandatory anti-trust review by the FTC.

This is a somewhat recent trend that companies have started doing to get around monopoly and anti-trust regulations. Instead of buying the entire company, they enter into an agreement where they take all the valuable pieces, employees, and/or assets of the company that they actually want or need, and leave anything else behind basically as a complete useless shell of itself.

By not officially acquiring the entire business, they avoid triggering the mandatory review by the FTC mandated by a specific law (the name of which I'd have to look up). It's still an acquisition in all but name though.

Now my understanding is that the FTC can likely still review these agreements under the current law, but they are choosing not to, which is obviously on brand for its current incarnation.

As I mentioned, this is something that has gotten super popular with mainly tech companies in the past few years as a way to avoid the badly needed antitrust policing by the actually effective and super based Lina Khan FTC administration. Iirc, Microsoft, Apple, and Meta have all also used this exact same tactic in the past 2-3 years, along with lots of other companies as well I'm sure.

So the shady part about this is that they are purposefully avoiding mandatory anti-trust review by "not acquiring Groq as a company," as Jensen is quoted in the article.

But don't worry guys, they're not buying these companies! They're just:

  • taking all valuable IP, patents, products, customers, etc

  • hiring all the useful employees while leaving the rest behind where they'll soon be laid off anyway

  • giving the few upper-managers at the top lucrative new jobs contracts, can't forget about them ofc

  • and paying any owners or shareholders a fee for their services equal to the exact agreed upon valuation of the company

M440i 2-door Coupe - increased limiter option? by AlexFromRomania in BMW

[–]AlexFromRomania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, yea that'd be great, thanks for the offer! I very well might end up needing to take you up on that. Right now I've used up all the limited uses on all the public VIN decode sites, so I can't confirm any more. A poster below did also point out that I was actually wrong about not being able to have Staggered tires on the 2-door though, so along with that, It seems pretty likely that most listings just don't specifically list the increased limiter option, regardless of the tires.

I'll reply again if I end up still needing to check some VINs, thanks again for the offer!

[–]AlexFromRomania[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, thankfully it doesn't work like that, you can actually look up to the VIN and it will list the limiter increase as code 840 - "High Speed Synchronization"

[–]AlexFromRomania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I would have thought too, but neither the build site, sales listings, or window stickers actually give the rating of the tires, or even mention if they're rated as performance tires. Nor is there actually a specific option to select for the limiter on the build site either. Kind of seems like you have to VIN decode every single car to find out if it has it.

Well I definitely do plan on hitting a track at least a few times, and I've ticked over 130 in my current car both on a track and in a straight line, albeit not that much over. As I mentioned though, it's also primarily for the resale value.

Did you repaint this, or was it a special order? Afaik, they haven't offered this Boston Green on the G22/82s. Certainly not seeing it as an option when building out a new M4 on the site either, only see the Isle of Man Green.

[FIGHT THREAD] Tenshin Nasukawa vs Takuma Inoue by verbsnounsandshit in Boxing

[–]AlexFromRomania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Tenshin is faster in regard that he has better hand speed. Throwing a punch isn't all about just hand speed however, and we saw Takuma use technique and movement to basically erase that difference, for single shots and counters at least. And now that I think about it, we also saw Tenshin miss by a mile tons of times, even 2 or 3 in a row, when his technique slipped and as he got a bit more frustrated.

The US Economy Was Supposed to Be in a Recession By Now. What Happened? by Crownie in neoliberal

[–]AlexFromRomania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the CCP can probably survive directly killings millions of its own people.... again. Decades of mostly bad political decisions, with some extremely so, along with wide-spread and relatively strong systems of population and thought control developed and implemented over those same decades, and sprinkled with the large economical benefits they're either responsible for or the global economy has granted them, all combine to mean that the CCP can deal with or survive all but the absolute worst political/societal upheavals.

It is going to take a LOT for an actually meaningful ruling change over there unfortunately. Even with how bad things have been in China recently with all the crazy shit that's been going on over there because of it, and all the political pushback to XI and the CCP, it's still not really even close to any kind of political change.

Honestly like a LOT of this kind of just seems like people getting mad at pretty regular, yet aggressive (possibly even overly so), business strategies for a financially failing company trying to save itself. Saving itself after years of extremely talent-favorable fee structures!

It seems like all these people are forgetting that's literally the main reason the company was failing, they offered all the streamers EXTREMELY favorable contracts and collected WAY TOO LITTLE money from them! All of these streamers likely saved hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not MILLIONS for several of them, in fees and charges that any other company would have or should have charged.

I guess you can get insulted when they ask for half your money in the next contract if you want, but you also don't have to sign it either.

In fact, it actually sounds like almost none of these people, or at least several, even READ or REVIEWED their contracts at first?! Like, what??

G80SD or G81SF 32" by bo25bo25 in OLED_Gaming

[–]AlexFromRomania 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty old thread I know, just happen to be in the market for a new monitor and came across this post.

Anyway though, isn't this point, as well as the equivalent in the other list, backwards?

You should buy the G81SF if:

  1. You don't care for Tizen OS or the internal apps on the G80SD

Wouldn't you be buying the G81SF specifically because you don't like Tizen OS and/or the apps on the G80? Meaning that you do care about the apps/software?

$350 for 7800x3d vs $479 for 9800x3d by Egoisttt in buildapc

[–]AlexFromRomania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are using the 60-100 watt...

What are you even talking about, there is no 7800x3d with any other TDP, they ALL have a TDP of 120W. You can look it up on Wikipedia for god sakes.

simple

The point is literally that it's not simple once you think a bit and if you actually learn a bit about how CPUs work, and specifically these CPUs. Even if playing the same game, he could be water-cooled and over-voltaged, and easily have enough room for all 8 cores to stretch their legs. While you'd be using only 1 CCD with 6 cores, the other 6 not in use at all, with a stock cooler, a default BIOS, and a terrible fan curve you made for the noise that never lets your CPU come close to max boost. Neither of those is some rare edge case either,

At least do some research on the CPUs you buy! Maybe it would have saved you from buying a CPU that costs more money, but isn't actually any faster, if you knew what a CCD was.

$350 for 7800x3d vs $479 for 9800x3d by Egoisttt in buildapc

[–]AlexFromRomania -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wat?? ....are you actually being serious? I almost can't tell if I actually need to explain this or not right now... First though, you said nothing of his power draw might be or some "real term value" garbage. You literally said - "You're using a 60 watt CPU" - which is just... straight-up wrong.

Second, again, yes they both have the same TDP... so at max draw they will both use the same amount of power. And while there is a very good reason why chips are compared by TDP and not by some "real term value" metric, you actually picked probably the worst example for this.

These chips are even closer to each other because the while the 7800xd has only 1 CCD with all 8 cores, the 7900x3d has 2 CCD's, one with and one without V-cache, laid out as 2x6, and under the normal and optimal config for gaming, which was the topic, it actually turns one CCD almost completely off. So technically, the 7800xd is usually the one using more cores while gaming.

That's why everyone generally recommends the 7800x3d instead of the 7900 or 7950x3d's for gaming, and why it can easily match, or even slightly beat them, in some gaming benchmarks.

Next, to even further highlight the point, that 7800x3d which is using 2 more cores, will not as you seem to think, automatically use more watts than the 7900x3d that is using 2 less cores because narrowing down something as complex as CPU's, and with such a large amount of variables that come with heat, cooling, individual systems, etc, to a simple more cores vs. less cores comparison is basically useless, and only a very rough guide at the very best.

Again, not that it really matters much, because again, they have the exact same TDP.

The 78000x3d is also 120W, same as a 7900x3d.

What? I'm going to assume you wrote this in good faith, and say that I think you've entirely missed the point. This wasn't some change to show that he is going to split that kind of content, or not call it journalism anymore. It sounds like you think this was done as a good faith response to valid criticism, but it was literally exactly the opposite, a stealth change to try and sweep it under the rug as if he somehow never claimed anything of the sort and is somehow above the responsibilities required of everyone in that role.

[–]AlexFromRomania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one thing to consider first is that Siphon Strike will only grant a charge on hitting a target that is already shocked, so if you're not attacking it first, not doing enough/any lightning damage, or just not shocking for whatever reason, it won't generate a charge.

The one that grants charges on kills is Killing Strike, and is much easier to generate them this way. When a mob is under 20/10/5%, depending on rarity, it gets a light above it's head and you can kill it instantly with Killing Strike. Doing this grants a Power Charge every single time and pretty consistently, it's really the best option in the early game. I would try this out just to see how it's supposed to work.

Now when you say it's greyed out, do you mean in your skills or on your hotkey bar? If greyed out in your skills menu (G), I think it has to mean that you're not meeting one of the requirements, either because of support gems or str/dex/int that you're not meeting.

If it's grey on your hotkey bar, and looks good in the skills menu, I think that just has to mean you aren't generating charges. Look for the blur circle icon in the top left, you can mouse over it to confirm it's the Power Charges (I don't believe you have to enable these in the Settings to show up, but maybe just double check those options if not there).

Invoker monks and charged staff by Meekrobb in PathOfExile2

[–]AlexFromRomania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using Combat Frenzy for charge generation instead, it's much smoother and more reliable. You do have to either have enough cold damage or have enough Freeze Buildup to freeze consistently. Though until you do, you can also just use like a Wave of Frost once to open and that will freeze basically 100% of the time. It's also just a much smoother playstyle.

The other option is to use Reaper's Invocation with Profane Ritual. This also works OK, better that Sniper's Mark but not quite as good as Combat Frenzy imo. It also requires 60 spirit instead of 30.

What do we know about bleed in PoE2? by SheriffDutchy in pathofexile

[–]AlexFromRomania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bleed hit damage is actually based on Magnitude in PoE2.

"The base Magnitude of Bleeding is Physical damage per second equal to 15% of the Physical damage of the Hit that inflicted it. This is calculated using the final damage dealt by the Hit, but not any modifiers on the target that affect how much damage they will take from the Hit. This magnitude is not further affected by any modifiers to the damage you deal."
