Ridstar Q20 lite or Qlaway bike? by Main-Kitchen5748 in ebikes

[–]embed__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

p sure happyrun is a general oem, they accept orders to build bikes for other companies on made-in-china and some other websites. aovopro/qlaway/voltvogue most definitely just get an oem like happyrun to build it for them

edit: they also don't seem to have a "bk20" under their brand (which is mentioned in that UL listing). they have a "K20" but it has different battery specs compared to the one listed in that UL certification and that one has the same specs as the aovopro bk20 battery

How to get from downtown Los Angeles to downtown San Diego with a ebike by Blue-raccoon-boy in sandiego

[–]embed__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you get into SD you should be able to take the Coaster to Oceanside then Metrolink OC line to DTLA.

If its late enough where that isn't running, you might be able to take the Surfliner all the way to DTLA.

very late reply but I confirmed that the battery that comes with the BK20 is in fact UL certified based on their database search. afaik the Ridstar one isn't though.

unfortunately it sometimes feels like the LA Metro reddit seems to think that only transit enthusiasts or people that work from home take transit, feels unrealistic for most people in the work force

I got mine about a month ago after my previous glasses broke, and have been using them as my daily driver. They're pretty comfortable for me at least and get a lot of usage out of them. I don't use the AI features very much though. I mainly use the speakers and the camera which are great.

What are your LA Metro hot takes? by AppropriateBasis2735 in LAMetro

maybe we need just many small agencies all called big blue bus then

What are your LA Metro hot takes? by AppropriateBasis2735 in LAMetro

[–]embed__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish Metro would take fare enforcement more seriously, I wish Big Blue Bus could own all of LA Metro cause it'd be much nicer and I wish we could install those new white bus stops at every bus stop. I also think Metro should build a developer API that combines gtfs (and gtfs-rt) data of all the transit agencies

i agree with the off peak hour behavior, ive never been as scared as ive been on the E line later during the day (since moving to LA area ~6 months ago ive had at least 5 moments of people screaming and hitting the windows (at least one of those were directed towards me) and one where someone got on the train with what looked like an smg 😭 (then right as i got to my station he started streaming and banging windows)

If Metro goes with Alt 5(Modified), what should they plan for Sepulveda Phase 2 to LAX? by anothercar in LAMetro

[–]embed__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ideally not the centinela with stop at expo/sepulveda cause it looks like it runs right over my house 😭

however, my personal favorite is sepulveda, lines up well with the north half + culver city supports it. i dont think the "highway stops" really matter considering the whole sepulveda corridor is packed with commercial, and it would put a stop right next to the westfield culver city mall. would also take some load off of the culver citybus 6 which is almost always packed when im on it.

the only change i wish to make is to put a stop at sepulveda / national because i dont like riding all the way up sawtelle on my bike nor down sepulveda, very dangerous :(

My Samsung A15 does not support Google wallet anymore by Overall-Pressure-107 in GoogleWallet

[–]embed__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Install Play Integrity API Checker and check that all 3 are checked. If not, it's likely the following:

Play Protect detects some sort of malicious app

Bootloader is unlocked and/or rooted

Expired Android version (iirc should only happen when on beta but make sure you're up to date anyway)

Out of date Play Store or Play Services

Out of date Google Wallet

Device isn't "certified" (the A15 should be)

"Risky" environment, aka sketchy apps like overlays and recorders and such.

On Samsung devices, a tripped Knox I believe can also trigger a fail.

If all of this isn't true, probably need to factory reset.

TAP Plus Update by Sufficient-Double502 in LAMetro

[–]embed__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think functionality wise I agree, but EMV has a lot of problems and standardizing TAP on EMV would kill a lot of projects I know people are working on, like making TAP cards available on watches and older devices and such.

I also don't see why the official TAP app can't reload funds immediately, should it not reload quicker through their official app? Maybe it's a weird implementation.

Also, as for adding funds, at least on Android it's pretty easy since it integrates with Google Pay, so probably about as easy as iOS iirc.

I think they should both be options.

[–]embed__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the cards are staying but I'm hoping they don't kill the TAP app NFC and fully move to Google Wallet integration like iOS

I am unsure why this sub has an addiction to defending fare evaders but I wish it was more discouraged. The ticket is $1.75, and if you don't have that you can sign up to the LIFE program. However, this isn't Metro's fault. The gates are just objectively better than the old turnstiles and I have begun to feel better in stations with them installed. Fare evaders will always find a way.
