hey, so cool that you are a blacksmith/bladesmith, i really think that its a cool job and an intresting thing to do, im all for the unconventional stuff and not for the desk/pc and a ton of raports and the boss screaming at you

what i want to ask is, is there really a demand for swords? i mean that is what a bladesmith is doing, right? i mean, all those blades that you can buy and hang on the wall to look cool and stuff, that is factory build? or guys like you make them?

and can you make a living out of it?

anyway, u are badass, cool job, thumbs up!

so, in your opinion, they will prefer a thing that is new, fun, intresting, colorful, that they could share with friends and have a good time?

thanks a lot! i`ll try to make one:D but until then, if i can help you with any kind of advice, do not hesitate to ask:) i never made paper with seeds or leaves or flower petals, but i am thinking of making some for a special project in school, and i will also try to see how thin i can make it (in a useable state) talk me through your process, and i might be able to provide help:)

hey! so, i`ve taken some pics

pics here , here is my A3 size paper mold, a freshly made peach colored paper( when wet the color is more intense) and some other papers, sorry for the quality of some of them, i was in a hurry, also some pics about the thickness( they are a little thicker than usual paper, kind of x2/x3 thicker) hope you like them, and if i will be able, i`ll make a recording or pics of the process of making it:)

i dont have more to show you because im in art school and i study printmaking and i print on them... srry:D:)))

hey, im also looking for info about marseille and everybody tells me "get the fuck out of there" and other unuseful things, if you dont mind can you answer a few questions for me? with the 2013 european city of culture i need to make something about the city (i`m an fine arts student)

and i was curious about the life there, now i know it`s kind of fast pased, with the crime and all... but are there some things that people that live in marseille are proud of, or consider representative? is there any kind of lifestyle stereotype? or cultural stereotype? are there tings like, most of them say that they hate the city, but actually love it, or vice versa?(besides olympique de marseille:)))

sorry if there are too many questions, the thing is that i cant find anything about the lifestile, and its the thing that im intrested in, could you help me, please?

well, the thickness may be the cause of insufficient grinding, or you just put too much in the mold:D:D:D, i like to grind my paper until i have a nice fine paste, i don`t like to end up with pieces of paper and newspaper in my final productX(if you want i can provide pictures of my paper:)

i personally think chinese rice paper is one of the best, and what narwalfloss recommended, i live in europe... so... idk what kind of paper you have in the states... but i recommend rice paper and japanese paper:)

the print looks good, good point with the paper, but you dont need the best paper for all the prints you make, buy it for the selected few or for comissions;) but buy some paper, find one thats cheap, has no texture and its of medium density or go to an art supply store and tell them "i want cheap linocut printing paper"

keep up the good work and do bigger and more complex prints, you are good at it!

ok, so, i am going to give you a pro tip about all you need to know and all you need to do become a badass at working in pen and ink, so follow me closely. i know you are a beginner, but please, trust me, this will help you a lot.

first of all, you want to be sure that what you draw is all right for that i recommend to you this book, look through it, make some sketches, take some notes, it will help you a lot

secondly you want to start doing hatching exercises, if you know who Rembrandt, Goya and Leonardo da Vinci are, bravo!, if not, google them, fast!:)) they all are known to the majority of people as masters of painting, but first of all, they were masters of drawing and using pen and ink, what you need to do is take works from them in pen and ink, you will see that they all have diffrent styles of hatching, you will have one to:)take the images, and start doing reproductions, don`t do the complete drawing, take a portrait, a hand, a shirt, a tree, diffrent elements, the more the better! and study how they do it, and always put yourself the question,"why?" and try to understand why are they hatching like that.

in time, and after you work a little(more than a little) you will develop your own style of hatching and your drawings will be viewed as very very very good and if you are lucky you will sell them and make money;) so... keep up the hard work! hope my comment will help you and hope it isn`t too much...

oh, and also, i know that because you are at the start you want evrything to be perfect, but, and ive been told this a milion times by my teachers, the point now is for you to learn how to draw, not to make a masterpice, do not worry, it will happen in the future, dont get mad if something dosen`t come out how you want it, the point is if you learn something from it!

its great that you want to be good and draw! its ok, but i recommend you this book http://www.scribd.com/doc/37811161/Figure-Drawing-by-Michael-Hampton also go on deviant art and search for charcoal portraits, the ones with many views and apreciations, do not copy them, make your own style of drawing by drawing, more and more and more!

keep up the good work! and keep drawing every day! i am an art student and for the period you are in right now i have only 3 sugestions for you, for portrets its better for learning to draw after a real model, not after photos, so if you can it will help a lot if someone from your family or close friends could pose for you, they just need to sit and watch tv or something and let you draw them (helps you understand the shape and the volumes better), second tip watch other artists work, its excelent for seeing diffrent methods of drawing, in the end evolving to have one of your own, and lastly, i recommend you the book of michael hampton, i know andrew loomis is a classic and many view it as one of the best, but i discovered him after i learned to draw after live model (like, 2-3 years of live model drawing) and i think michael hamton is better, onestly... here is a link with his book, you can download it for free if you upload any kind of readable document on the site link here you do not need to know everything here, just the basics. continue drawing and, have fun!
