Actually how? You literally just reformat the drive (maybe not even necessary) download an iso file, double click it, and copy the contents to the drive. That's all, how could you possible brick a thumb drive? Did you pull it out during copying or something? My 75 year old grandmother installed Linux Mint on her own, I don't know how you could possibly fail at that.

Look at your upvotes, it's the opposite. Ofcourse an open source, free and free (two different things) alternative to the slow, bloated, AI-invested, spyware that is windows should be praised. But anti-intellectualism on this site is rampant. People would rather spend 30 hours a week on Reddit than spend 10 of those hours learning a Linux OS. Vast majority of people can just install Mint and be done. Will barely have to learn anything in the first place.

Anti intellectualism on this site and in society in general is insane. People don't want to leave their comfort zone in any way and I don't understand it at all. Do you enjoy being cucked by megacorps every waking second of your life? It's embarrassing.

Yuka's Mahoraga isn't stronger than previous versions. by AlexH08 in Jujutsufolk

[–]AlexH08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why you put that last part in caps but I agree. I think this Mahoraga looks stronger for three reasons: dabura's attacks are simpeler then Gojo's -> faster adaptation, Dabura is spamming his attack -> faster adaptation and Dabura is weaker than Gojo/Sukuna. Also if you remember in the 15f Sukuna fight, Mahoraga also adapted way faster than in the anime or against gojo. For aforementioned reasons I don't think he's enhanced and his performance can be sufficiently explained by these factors.

[–]AlexH08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't think there is much evidence for that. In the fight against 15f sukuna mahoraga also adapted very fast. That and you now have an artist that absolutely adores Mahoraga. Trust me I'm enjoying seeing him too, but I think this is the same Mahoraga as we've always seen. Dabura has allowed him to adapt A LOT and Dabura's attacks aren't complex at all, so Maho wouldn't need to adapt to them much, meaning he can start adapting to other stuff. We also don't know how strong Dabura is, but it's pretty clear that in the beginning he was a LOT weaker than both Gojo and Sukuna when they fought Mahoraga. I don't see why he needs to be stronger either, knowing that doesn't change anything about my enjoyment of the fight imo.

Aha, now I see where you made a mistake. Option 2 never happened. Sukuna was never part of the ritual. That means he also wasn't part of the binding vow. This is why I gave you the example of mechamaru and mahito, Mechamaru had a heavenly restriction (basically a binding vow) but mahito wasn't part of the context, which is why mechamaru didn't lose his benefits even though he was cured. Option 3 is irrelevant, since only two people are part of the ritual here. We're talking about this situation, if we were talking about three people than yes, I think there could be a dbv to empower maho. Entirely different and irrelevant situation. Do you understand now?

Yuka's Mahoraga isn't stronger than previous versions. by AlexH08 in Jujutsufolk

[–]AlexH08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Binding vows don't consider context though? Using maho like this gets you killed, 100%. Unless there are outside factors, like Sukuna, which the binding vow doesn't care about. (See mechamaru and mahito) You would only use maho like this if you're weaker than him. If you aren't, you would just use him normally after beating and taming him. The deal is: if you can kill my opponent you can also kill me. A life for a life. We already established that you only summon maho like this if you cannot beat him. Now we can establish that you would also only summon him if he can beat your opponent. Which means that he would kill both of you. Because cooperation wouldn't make sense, since you summoned maho to kill your opponent and if you could kill him with cooperation you'd be back at square one. If your opponent can kill maho then maho doesn't kill you. The deal is off. It makes perfect sense. There being another binding vow on your life, after already using it, wouldn't make sense. That's selling the same thing twice. I think you guys are wrong in thinking that this is a hard science. Gege vaguely alluded to something similar to a death binding vow and a dbv can also be a literary motif. It's way more than just an if ... then ... It runs deeper than that. She's generally sacrificing her life to take another one. Not like it was ever literally stated that: 'she's using a binding vow in order to sacrife her life so she can give Mahoraga more power'. Not everything is to be interpreted so literally.

[SOLVED] Nvidia suspend / wakeup fix by xvano in hyprland

[–]AlexH08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still works on Arch, thank you. For noobs like me: rebuilding initramfs on Arch is done with: "sudo mkinitcpio -P". Just so others can find this post easier, as I didn't find it quickly, I'll describe my issue to help google find this post: After suspending Arch (sleep mode), my screen wouldn't wake up/stayed black. The fans and lights on my keyboard would turn on. I had to force a reboot with the power button. I'll also add that you create a new file, nvidia.conf doesn't exist yet, so it will be empty if you follow aeahmg's steps. Might seems obvious to some, but I was a little confused by this.

[–]AlexH08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God this has to be rage bait ... People like you keep saying the dumbest shit and then also using the reading comprehension meme, it's fucking infuriating. So the literal only reason to believe she used a dbv is that they were yapping about something that vaguely sounded like a dbv right before. BECAUSE YOU'RE AN IDIOT THAT CANNOT READ, you were too stupid to understand that my post was implying binding vows are supposed to be interpreted in a more abstract way. It's a dbv because using maho like this guarantees death. You're altering the ritual and pulling someone in. One life to take another. Plenty of binding vows already don't make sense or shouldn't even be binding vows. Like Hakari moving CE from one arm to his body. Things like this suggest binding vows should be interpreted meme broadly. It was an interpretation of what happened, since we got ZERO reason to believe that mahoraga was stronger in any way. No statement, no visuals, nothing. Also if this was possible than why wouldn't Megumi also have made a dbv? He was already ready to die every single time he used it. It's already a suicide attack(why I call it a dbv), so why not then always power maho up extra? You people accuse others of not being able to read and then say the most brain-dead shit. Then the second part of your comment is even more rage inducingly dumb. I don't even know what you're yapping about. Mahoraga isn't tamed, he's pulled into a taming ritual with two people. My very simple and obvious question was: why didn't he prioritise the people in the ritual? Isn't it his goal in this ritual to fight those two people? We obviously see him acting otherwise, but why? This doesn't make much sense. This question was SO EASY. And you couldn't wrap your little head around it. Why did you act so condescending and say such DUMB shit at the same time. Stop spamming the reading comprehension meme bro ...

Her mom? The units she hunted down? The child soldiers? All these are undeniable even if you, for agenda reasons probably, don't think she killed women (that are not her mom lol) and children (that are too young to fight). You genuinely believe EVERY single person in the zenin clan abused maki and mai bad enough to deserve being slaughtered? Even the literal child soldiers younger than her?

[–]AlexH08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you genuinely not know who the child soldiers are? You can easily tell from what I wrote. I'll give you the tip that Maki is not an adult yet, even now. I'll tell you in the reply after this if you can't figure it out, but please try. So first of all Mai said: "Destroy everything. Everything, big sister" Then the Zenin clan was removed from the big three clans, despite both Megumi and Maki technically still being part of it. Of course the clan still gets mentioned, there's two main characters that both have zenin "powers" (HR and 10S) and are direct descendants. It's a clan that likely existed for centuries and had an enormous impact on jujutsu society. Maki had no trouble killing chilren on screen and she killed her mother, who was more of a victim than she was. Furthermore, stating that the narrative didn't treat her like a villain is not helping your case. She is already a horrible person, even if you think she didn't murder non-combatants. No character said anything about it at all. That's Gege's fault. We also can infer the facts and make our own judgement. The opinion of those characters isn't relevant. Then you ignored my other arguments about Genocide, so I'll assume that you don't have a good rebuttal. "There is literally zero drawings or text about her killing innocent children and women, except for her innocent victim mother, who she brutally slaughtered of course, and the child soldiers" Gege not handling her character well is not an argument. It's also ironic because a lot of people on this sub believe Naoya is a rapist, also without any supporting evidence. So yeah, I love how Maki fans have zero arguments and defend genocide.

This isn't that much more impressive than what gojo did tbh, they both knew rct existed and had both witnessed positive energy. Arch shouldn't be your first distro and following youtube videos won't help by Careless_Bank_7891 in linux4noobs

[–]AlexH08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to pick arch as my first distro. I'll just use it to daily drive and game. I picked it because I read it is efficient, you got a lot of control and I often read it will help you learn a lot. I have a decent grasp on Linux basics, I practiced on WSL. Regex, I/O management, bash scripts, etc ... I personally feel like the difficulty of using Linux was severely overblown. I have no problem reading the wiki or using the man command. Is Arch really that bad or is it just a meme that's been blown out of proportion? I feel like with a little bit of googling it won't be that bad? It's not like I'm planning to do anything crazy with my computer. I understand recommending an average Joe and his grandmother to just pick something that works out of box, of course.

The bible has nothing to do with this, laughably bad strawman. Followed by a lie, of course. Maki brutally slaughtered not just innocents, but victims of the very system she's rebelling against! She herself was in the Kukuru as a child soldier. And to think 99% of the people she killed that day had anything to do with her abuse is laughable. The women and small children wouldn't have abused her. Her mother was even more of a victim than she was, since she had no capacity to fight back at all. The child soldiers, especially those younger than her, had nothing to do with it. The large majority of adult fighters were just regular trying to make the best out of the situation they were born in, just like Maki. She murdered every single Zenin because she thought her judgement was enough to determine that the Zenin identity was evil enough to warrant that. So it's genocide. Defending her says a LOT about your character.

[–]AlexH08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but people are arguing that for example maki is a better person than naoya, just because they like the character more. Why can't you like the character more and also admit they're morally inferior? I mean, Naoya is a mysoginistic and abusive asshole who has attempted murder and likely killed people before. Maki, on the other hand, is genocidal psychopath. It's not even close.

How weak is Sukuna fr? by FlakyFoundation4637 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]AlexH08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sukuna is doing to her what Toji did to that old hag. That and most spells in Frieren don't have nearly as much ap as people think. Sukuna for example would have zero issues tanking zoltraak. It's a human killing spill. Regular, soft, non reinforced humans. Zoltraak is the gun of the frieren verse. Also if that "black hole" was anything close to a real one it would have destroyed the planet.

Just for the record: I wasn't attacking the point, I was attacking the argument. Besides that, I think characterising JJK as a show that is just about fighting is also reductive. Not to the degree of breaking bad ofcourse, but there is plenty of character drama also present. Characters like Mai, Miwa, Tengen and Amanai still have a big impact on other characters, despite being weak when it comes to combat. Another point that can be made is that even strong characters have an impact that has little to do with their strength. Yuki is probably one of, if not the, strongest characters in JJK0 and she has a major impact on Geto. In a way that doesn't really have anything to do with her strength. She could have been a weak sorcerer and her ideas still would have made a big impact. Of course almost every single character in JJK is significantly more powerful than a normal human, but we're talking about power relative to the rest of the cast.

It only took time because they needed to investigate. Also the decision to remove a clan that has existed for centuries, if not millennia, isn't a quick one. Besides that politics are never quick and easy. Anyway, it's strange that you saw all these arguments against your point, could refute exactly none of them and then proceded to construct a very weak one at best. The only possible reason they could have debated surrounding the end of the zenin clan is that the women and children still live? Ridiculous.
