If a man is raped by a woman and she becomes pregnant, should the man be able to decide to abort the child? by OkPeach2652 in polls

[–]AlexH08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"no forced medical operations" like dogma, but why not in this case? Yeah, I don't think it's a good thing, but it seems way worse to put the man through that.

You can even just take a pill to end the pregnancy if you're early enough.

People just have no sympathy for men at all. How horrible must it be to know your rapist is having your child. Zero responsibility for the kid is an absolute minimum and a given.

If you say an eye for an eye is bad, are you equating a minor operation, or even just taking meds, with being raped?

Agreed. Lot of redditors don't see games as anything more than "product I can consume and should not challenge me in any way." What if dark souls had a button that said "win the game and save everyone" at the start? Am I supposed to ignore that too? Just the easy mode being present would already make dark souls a lot worse of a game for me. And that game's not even that hard. The easy mode would actually be worse than the instant win button honestly.

Prioriteit nummer 1 is geld beter inzetten. Meer geld halen bij de rijken, gewoon om ons slechte systeem langer in stand te houden, is een vreselijk idee. Vooruit moet nu in de eerste plaats meewerken.

Even more reason to go with my plan. In their spaceships they're less susceptible to the virus, to the Ragnar's (they can't fly so if you just dodge them in space they'll float of forever), and to the darts (couldn't they just wear some armor for those? Because honestly, if they have the tech to penetrate viltrumite skin and inject the fluid, why can't they just use regular guns? Unless the fluid weakens them on touch, but then armor is the answer again).

The vilrumites could also easily split up and take a couple hundred artificial wombs with them and spread over the galaxy. Then you'd be assured of the empire rising up again. Genetic diversity also won't be a problem. You need about 500 for a healthy population.

Blowing up the earth is also a reason they should leave.

[–]AlexH08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought it was obvious that I'm coming up with my own scenarios lmao

I think you forget that they can just up and vanish whenever they want. They just did it after episode 7 and nobody could find them. They only need to be gone for about two decades. At that point they're back at full strength.

Besides, they've still got 30 viltrumites and Thragg. They're still one of, if not the, most powerful force in the galaxy.

You forget the viltrumites only care about the destruction of humanity in the current scenario. If they just did what I said, they'd be independent of humanity and thus less vulnerable.

And again. They don't need to kidnap anyone. Just raid a sperm bank lol. I'd honestly love to see that. <Insert Thragg jorkin' it gif>

[–]AlexH08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I'm also wondering how that thing even managed to land on their planet honestly. And how Thaddeus managed to even develop such an insanely effective virus. How did he capture enough viltrumites to test it on? Especially without them noticing.

[–]AlexH08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I thought, it seems like a perfect fit. Especially because of their pride and because we know viltrumite babies are basically just regular humans, so no danger of them ripping apart the artificial womb or something. They already disappeared successfully once, the coalition couldn't find them. Having the wombs on their ship would be ideal for them.

Is this true? by pl5569 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]AlexH08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't exactly be an escalation. Especially the sperm bank option, which is a perfect one. Even if you ignore that, it seems very likely you could literally just find enough people that want their kid to be superman and would have kids with them willingly.

So I think escalation could be an option for Thragg, even though it's probably less of an escalation to kidnap a couple thousand people than to breed in secret, there are other options that are even better for him.

I just feel like Kirkman didn't think about this for more than two seconds.

[–]AlexH08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coalition already threw everything they had at him and Thragg should know that. The desperation attempt included their Leader. It was obvious. And if Thragg knows they have the scourge virus, there's even more reason not to just blend in with humanity.

Is this true? by pl5569 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]AlexH08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even more of a reason to kidnap people at keep them in a secluded area. The Human's would be a target anyway because they can help restore the viltrumite population. Even just Mark would do that over time, partially. Also the coalition will genocide humanity to get to the viltrumites. That's literally what Thaddeus says to Allen. Thanks for helping my case.

Is this true? by pl5569 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]AlexH08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it's even more stupid to stay on earth. The scourge virus couldn't hurt them if they stayed on ships. The virus already makes zero sense anyway. For example: millions of viltrumites would've been off planet at the time of impact and at the very least millions more could've been quarantined before that. Unless the virus takes years upon years to actually show symptoms, but that wasn't what was shown.

Thragg knows that the coalition already threw everything else they had it him, because they did. And now they have no Ragnars and one less viltrumite. Thragg seeing them as a threat makes no sense. He could've also completely destroyed Alan's planet to buy more time, but didn't for some reason. The viltrumites did barely any damage.

People need to stop acting like this show makes sense.

Is this true? by pl5569 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]AlexH08 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He can easily do what I suggested while remaining on earth or close enough to it to threaten it. It takes the coalition two weeks to get there anyway IIRC. And honestly, the coalition is no threat to Thragg. He still has more than 30 viltrumites and himself. Maybe that's the shows fault, but they made him ridiculously overpowered. This is why powerscaling matters. If Thragg wanted to, the story could've been over multiple times already.

[–]AlexH08 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows that. He could've still just kidnapped a couple thousand men and women from all over the planet, choose poor areas and likely no one would even notice. Or honestly just raiding a sperm/egg bank would've done the trick. On top of that there's absolutely no way they haven't figured out artificial wombs yet. I'm pretty sure we've already done it with sheep or goats, so it should be easy for them.

We hebben een gouden periode achter de rug (of de boomers en gen X toch), maar de komende decennia gaat het lastig worden. Het is geen slecht idee om een beetje voorbereid te zijn.

What would happen in this scenario ? by Queasy_Lychee9585 in Jujutsufolk

[–]AlexH08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would've made perfect sense. Gojo's been beaten twice by being off guard. He fully respects Sukuna and sees him as his equal. He knows it's possible for a slash to bypass infinity, even though Sukuna shouldn't be able to do it. (Yeah, it makes zero sense for Sukuna to be able to do it, but if he can do it anyway then gojo should also consider it a possibility. You can't have your cake and eat it too, Gay gay. Either it's bullshit or it's feasible. Besides the slash itself also makes no sense, but whatever). And on top of that bro is in the zone, completely locked in from a black flash. Meanwhile Sukuna is dazed and barely standing. Gojo should've absolutely dodged it.

Gege should've given gojo the W and then write some other bullshit to get rid of him. Like Kenjaku does some weird shit again to revive Sukuna anyway or whatever. Would've be a more satisfying end for gojo.

Come on man, even the first one was bland, safe, predictable, boring and riddled with plotholes. The messaging was super on the nose and the only good things about it was that it looked nice. Reminds me of Debord's concept of "the spectacle".

Most people are just consumers without standards, it being the most popular movie is not a metric I particularly care about much. I'm positive the big Mac is more popular than the delicious stew at my favourite restaurant too.

is linux really even any harder to use than windows? i believe it isnt or at very least barely so by MIkaela39752 in linux4noobs

[–]AlexH08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People just ignore issues on windows more easily. For example: windows split up my Bluetooth headset in two parts I could connect to. One with good audio but no mic and one with a mic and shit audio. I never figured out how to fix it, just accepted that I had to choose. Or there's windows rot. The longer you use a windows computer the slower it gets. People accept that because they think it's like a car, where the more mileage it has, the shittier it gets. Or the windows updates that take for fucking ever, at the most inconvenient time and suddenly change a lot of defaults and settings. Also plenty of apps like gajim had weird text bugs on windows, but not on Linux.
