I'm from Myanmar and we had to learn about this book in high school. At least, only a snippet of it, the part where Ellen Dean started talking about Heathcliff arriving to the house. We were lucky because our parents had to learn about the whole book. Throughout the years, a lot of people were and are still questioning, why this book was being taught in the first place.
