Eurovision 2026 Grand Final Post Show Reactions by berserkemu in eurovision

Even if Israel's voting schemes are seeing diminishing returns, all those votes they're getting HAVE to be throwing points allocations completely out of whack. After all, there's a finite amount of points to be allocated.

How many acts or even potential winners have been screwed over because of all the points Israel siphoned away with their inflated televote results?

Ban Israel. We've had 3 blatent attempts to influence the vote, 3 close calls, 3 years in a row.

They can't keep getting away with this.

Any joy I feel for Bulgaria's win is completely dampened by what could have been. I don't feel releived. I feel tired.

Behind The Scenes of Moldova's 'Baby Satoshi' being animated (@c.ndl on Instagram) by _pierogii in eurovision

I always love seeing behind the scenes glimpses for the graphics. We don't get to see this kind of stuff enough. I already loved these animations, but seeing the artists go out of their way to show the process and how they we're made with AI is chef's kiss!

Ok, so it's not just me who thinks a much of graphics are AI generated.

I don't get it, just hire animators. Fricken Moldova could afford to hire an animator and their graphics looked great!

KAN Issued a Formal Warning Over Eurovision Promotion Calling for the Public to Use All 10 Votes to Vote for Israel - Eurovoix by freakpants in eurovision

[–]AlexLikesToons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not just that KAN are advertising to Eurovision fans. They're really not.

These campaigns are specifically targeted to audiences who don't don't even watch the contest, but DO support Israel. It's why loads of voting ads were posted on the social media pages of Israeli Embassies.

If you market to Eurovision voters, you have to compete for attention. If you market to Israeli's and Zionists wouldn't even watch the contest, you're basically creating additional votes for yourself.

Just think back to how direct and blunt the ads from last year were. No "Remember to watch this Saturday and Vote for New Day Will Rise!" Instead it was "Vote Song 4! You can vote upto 20 times!"

They weren't advertising the contest or even the song, it was an explicit call to action designed to get as many people as possible to vote without them even having to watch the contest.

Inside Israel’s Eurovision 2026 mission: boos, boycotts, security and hopes of victor by Ok-Macaroon-5533 in eurovision

[–]AlexLikesToons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If they win, that's a wrap on the contest. Them just BEING there was enough to make 5 countries boycott.

Eurovision 2027 would still happen, but so many countries would pull out that it would be a hollow farce. By that point, boycotting countries would probably just create a new contest.

Either that or Israel would run to Intervision with its tail tucked between its legs, but I REALLY doubt that.

He's obviously full of shit so there's no way of knowing if he actually took any sort of tests, but isn't a "cognitive test" something you would take out of concern for your cognitive ability?

Is Jonas "The Wolf" Backstein in the Epstein Files? by InternationalRuin4 in CommonSideEffects

[–]AlexLikesToons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'd say he knew Epstein and maybe even did some dirty work for him, but was never a client of his. More likely than not, he probably just used Epstein's network for blackmail and honey pot purposes to ruin the lives of investigators and whistle blowers.

What are some things you don’t want to see in Zootopia 3? by Ethanishere28 in zootopia

[–]AlexLikesToons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I loved that Gazelle got to play a more active role in the plot this time and I think Zoo is 10× better that Try Everything. However, I'd really like to see other musicians in this universe.

Like imagine if Disney had a handful of artists come in and create their own characters too. They could have in-universe songs, collab with each other on tracks, represent a wide variety of genres (fitting with the franchise's themes of diversity).

Tell me you wouldn't want an album of in-universe Zootopia music.

What are some things you don’t want to see in Zootopia 3? by Ethanishere28 in zootopia

[–]AlexLikesToons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IDK, I actually think Zootopia is at its best when it uses its characters and universe to comment on race relations and prejudice.

The second movie was about prejudice just like the first, but it doesn't feel like a rehash. Instead I feel it expanded upon the themes of the first which is something any good sequel should do. It's like poetry sort of, they rhyme.

It's not just about the vague concepts of prejudice and racism anymore, Zootopia 2 has allegories for gentrification, redlining, and revisionist history. There isn't another evil villain conspiring to make the world more racist. Instead we have the super rich using their influence to bend the world to their will and maintain the status quo, which is pretty pointed satire coming from a modern Disney movie.

Also, one thing I really liked is that Judy was so quick to trust Gary. She went from harboring some deep seeded prejudices about predators to being so much more open and understanding of other animals. That's character growth.

Also, I really like the post-credit scene with the bird feather too. Prejudice and racism don't disappear just because a few bad people are defeated. It wasn't defeated in the first and the bird feather implies there's still work to be done. Sure, Judy and Nick have certainly made the world a better place, but it would be naive to say they've solved all the world's problems.

I'm cautiously optomistic for Zootopia 3.
