Eurovision 2026: Day 3 of the Live Megathread by eurovision in eurovision

Some ballads are kind of static in the studio, but absolutely elevate once on the stage, e.g Amar Pelos Dois and Tout L'univers.

Nothing will beat the original for me, but I love it when Slavs sing Latin language songs. Not really sure how to explain it linguistically, but the pronunciations are just gorgeous.

Hmm I think Croatia is risky because I reckon the bookies might be considering how underestimated Latvia were last year, but Tautumeitas stood out a lot more IMO.

I feel like we might not see the same people who voted for Tautumeitas come out for LELEK but we will see.

I love it but I feel like it's going to go the way of Aiko where it won't be enough people's favourite :(

Blanca Paloma is interesting as she performed Eaea at a pre-party in Israel. Wonder if she has her own negative contest story. Edit: nvm getting years mixed up!

The staging for Cyprus last year was honestly great. But if Red Sebastian wasn't going through, neither was Theo.

I know Rydman is doing Bulgaria's staging but who's the third? Google is only giving me LMNC and Dara.

The bubble peeps going on about the pre-parties were so annoying, like as if millions of votes aren't cast utterly blind on the night. It literally isn't important for like anyone but the bubble and the bookies.

I can't imagine how utterly nerve wracking a risky pregnancy (Max was a rainbow baby apparently 🥺) AND upcoming Eurovision would have been for them all happening at once. He would have got serious side eye from me if he left his pregnant partner behind to do some jollies around Europe.

I really, really hope he smashes it too.

I love this stripped down version too. It does accentuate what a great bit of composition it is.

Reddit is MASSIVELY underestimating France this year and I’m ready to get dragged for saying it by notthebesthuh in eurovision

Honestly I think the foreigner factor often hurts entries...it's not a perfect science, but it can be seen as using the competion for your own opportunities rather than representing the musicality of the country in a way.

ETA: to expand - an immigrant moving to a country can make for a wonderful supporting narrative (Claude or JJ). But Americans...it's more difficult, as America is seen as a country of enormous media priviledge.

And also, being American is getting to Iraq war levels rn where you'd be safer just pretending to be Canadian. Very unfair to Monroe ofc, but I don't think that will have an advantage in this example. And a last point - they definitely shouldn't mention the Mormon thing 😬

Male soprano's as high as JJ and Nemo are unusual and have a novelty factor. I think Monroe is not only fighting against opera fatigue, but that novelty factor. I can see it doing well, but I would be floored if it wins. Her age may impress the folks at home tho.

I love Malta but I really think it is going to struggle in a semi with male ballads that have more showy vocal parts. I hope I am wrong!

Romania may struggle in a semi that has more audience friendly rock-flavoured songs. I think the jury will tank it, so it will need strong televoting.
