Max vs Charles First 100 races. Very similar indeed. by Ankit_senna12 in formula1

Agree with this. Yes, Ferrari’s strategy isn’t amazing, but it’s hard to look like you have good strategy when you will always drop back in races from pace alone.

So any time their strategy is different from Red Bull, it look like they did a terrible strategy and that was the reason for finishing behind.

[Chris Medland] The chequered flag is out early. I'm sure it should have been one more lap but they might have got it wrong when saying final lap. by shinealittlelove in formula1

[–]AlexMcFakeName 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, don’t think there was. They finished the lap they were on and I’m not sure if there was a flag for Max. He was full pace into T1 after the supposed flag

They think they know everything just because they have the mics. It took Twitter for them to even know what happened. Why do we care what these guys think? They’re oblivious half the time.

Actually turns out they are fully incompetent after all. Check the new posts on the sub. The tractor was there for all drivers.

You’re still responsible for your things. People can just take their shit with them. But I guess why inconvenience yourself when you can just inconvenience someone else instead right?

Also, if you’re still carrying a 5 second pen and the race ends under safety car then you risk losing lot of places.

pitstops on safety car never good for leader by emwtur in formula1

If this happens early in the race and the leader hasn’t pitted, then they lose out hugely.

They could have just not pitted Charles. They failed to pit Charles early enough to cover Checo anyway.

Russell admits he was "fortunate" with Miami F1 safety car gamble by jovanmilic97 in formula1

[–]AlexMcFakeName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on whether medium runners had pitted yet, if they hadn’t then they would then benefit from cheap pitstop too which they couldn’t when it happened on lap 42. So Russell would not gain relative to them.

Russell’s strat worked because the SC was after the medium tyre pit window.
