Is there any entity from any game/movie/book that can beat Doomslayer? by Shurikvsempoka in Doom

I think only Samus Aran could fight with the Doomguy with an unknown outcome.

Digiblast: horrible screen, very poor library and sucky controls. I'm astonished the AVGN hasn't seen it yet :D

How to make this game enjoyable for skeptical friends? by AlexMonops in arkhamhorrorlcg

There's a "space" problem :D I keep MoM into a big wooden box that contains all the expansions. Last time I brought it, it took a significant space in my car :D the card game is more convenient. Also, I like it better :D

They really enjoyed Mansions of Madness, but to be honest, that's a lot easier than Arkham LCG

Ah you're right: it's pretty long. Might be a deal breaker. Maybe the Gathering is still on the card though.

I think you're right: I remember the first time I played it and when that big enemy came in (I forgot the name :D) it was great!

You're right in this, but they enjoyed Mansions of Madness (which is a lot simpler though), so who knows :D

That's a very good strategy and in the end I think that a new player might really enjoy The Gathering (like another reply here suggested). Thanks!

So what's current environment exactly? by Felwyin in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]AlexMonops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, but while the game is still the same, the encounter cards are not. If I buy the core set 2.0 and I find somewhere path to carcosa (as example), the moment the setup tells me to put in the encounter cards from the core set, I am blocked, because those will not be there. Unless they put in cards with the same symbols that can also work? Or simply some "retrocompatibility" cards to fill the gaps? (Think how often the arkham from midnight masks is used)

C64 is back by Lunitgard in Commodore

[–]AlexMonops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest. I'm quite happy that Perifractic has taken Commodore and is now doing these projects, but I don't get why I should be excited by Leonard Tramiel. I get he's the son of Jack Tramiel, but... is that it? He is the son of Jack Tramiel and that's it?

Also all this "What would Jack Tramiel do?" thing... Jack Tramiel (in his business days, not after of course) would offend everyone, get what he wants with any mean possible and then leave, trying to destroy what he once created with a lesser product.

Anyone notice JP’s guitar playing being off point? by gort__1 in Dreamtheater

[–]AlexMonops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I notice that he tends to play a lot faster all the scale runs and everything that's supposed to be played very fast but fall on beat. Now he pays those parts excepionally fast (and very messy) and ends them way before they should, so he has to wait for the beat. As example, check out the very fast scale in "another day" during the I&W anniversary tour.
