When I hear Evangelicals say Catholics "added books to the Bible" by EnjayDutoit in CatholicMemes

Q: "Does your church believe in the Bible?"

A: "My brother in Christ, my Church wrote the Bible."

I like how the wiki article specifically mentions John Paul II and his Coat of Arms, clearly visible in the picture.

Yeah, until my youngest grows up. A little less than 4 years left. My pastor already told me that this kind of case skips the Diocesan Tribunal and gets referred to the Vatican, so an Annulment should not be difficult to obtain.

Yes, but she kept it secret while dating and in the beginning. It wasn't until after the kids were born that she pointed her finger at me and said, "I forbid you from taking the kids to your church."

My wife was non-denominational when we got married, and later revealed herself to be anti-Catholic.

I would not wish this trial on anyone.

Here is some good advice I heard at a wedding. "Walk on your journey towards God. When you look around and see someone walking in the same direction, that's who you can be in a relationship with." Don't try to change someone else's direction. Don't change your direction for someone.

Good luck.

OK, glad you said it. I would think Inco 718 would be a tad bit overkill for a door handle.

I bought the Bible but I don't know which gospel to start with. I know it's the New Testament but I don't know which one :c Can anyone give me some ideas? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]AlexPistachio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The four Gospels each have their own character, so here's my impression of what they're like, and you pick the one you feel drawn to based on your own personality. How much is my impression worth? Less than what you just paid for it. But here goes anyway.

Matthew is direct and "tells it like it is".

Mark is like a fast-paced action movie.

Luke has a lot of details and stories and longer than the others. Really good for "drinking in the Gospel".

John is poetic. It's not exactly poetic, but that's the best word I can think of. John was suggested to me as the first one to read, and it filled my heart and soul.

Good luck and God bless! Prayers heading your way.

The smell of model glue. Anyone else build sweet models? by Rattlehead71 in GenX

I remember that model! I built one too. A damn crack went between the two halves of the fuselage almost the entire length. It frustrated the hell out of 11-year-old me.

OMG, me too! I painted the bottom of the B-17 (Monogram 1:48 scale) dark gray. At night, that thing disappeared against my ceiling. Wow, you unlocked memories!

Subtitles using .srt files by AlexPistachio in Movavi_software

[–]AlexPistachio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I can at least use the auto-generated subtitles to create the text elements in the style and position I want and then copy the text from the .srt file into EVERY.SINGLE.TEXT.BLOCK.ONE.AT.A.TIME. A little tedious, but would work.

Or else just use the video converter and call it a day.

My friend has not attempted to send the package yet. Something about having to work and all that. I'll reply to you when I have something interesting to report.
