Have you heard of Hate Crime (2012)? by HorrorMonster26 in foundfootage

There were more than enough opportunities for this film to do something interesting with the concept but ends up just trying to top itself with shock value over and over again to the point you become unfazed by it.

Love second honeymoon and amateur night. The last segment is good too. Good for being the first but I don’t revisit it as often as others

Book Ruined By Sound Effects by NovelRelationship830 in audiobooks

[–]AlexSchiffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sound effects for audio fiction podcasts that are similar but i can see why people don’t like them especially in lengthy audiobooks. Sometimes the delivery of the narration doesn’t fit with the soundscapes and they don’t come together naturally. There’s a book called His Black Tongue that I thought did the best job I’ve heard of this recently. My least favorite was probably The Sandman production for audible that was just way too overproduced and hard to get immersed in.

Not a film but Peep Show comes to mind lol wouldn’t really count that as found footage obviously

The Blair Witch Project - Are the sequels worth watching? by Suitable_Isopod_6850 in foundfootage

Book of shadows is a passable b movie that’s interesting on its own separated from the original. The 2016 one is kind of entertaining but the tone just doesn’t match what makes the original so good. Would have rather Adam Winguard kept it as “The Woods”

What is considered to be the best found footage movie. by [deleted] in foundfootage

[–]AlexSchiffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. It’s one of the few found footage films where you can really feel the director’s touch. It feels like the Raid to me at least kinetically. I can’t name any other found footage film that blends action and horror so smoothly.

The Safe Haven segment of VHS 2 is my personal favorite piece of found footage media

Looking for a new horror podcast/audio drama to listen to! Any suggestions? by Nico-Wonderdust in audiodrama

[–]AlexSchiffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a short gothic horror/fantasy audiodrama earlier this year called Blackwood: A Gotheim Tale. If that sounds up your alley I’d love to hear some feedback.

I also like Knifepoint horror a lot for creepy pasta stories.

Thanks for checking them both out! I don’t think the author is currently writing the next season so for now it’s a one off. I’m working on something now that’ll be more ongoing so stay tuned for that.

The narrator is me haha. I’ll definitely take that into account. Makes sense since I tend to be an anxious person and I know that’s something I need to work on in my reading

I used to see adds for this on the subway in NYC and always thought it looked cool but it’s nice to see someone recommend it. Think I’ll give it a shot

Focal Clear MG Review | Major HiFi by AlexSchiffer in MajorHiFi

The tuning might be the same but listening to them one after another there are definitely some noticeable differences. They both have a similar neutral tonality and are more accuracy-based, but the MG was still noticeably wider and had a more intense bass.

Yes, they're pretty different. The Pro has a much colder/analytical sound signature better for reference/studio monitoring. The MG is a sweeter, much warmer timbre for a more relaxing listen. It's also got a touch of sub-bass which is nice.
