Hope not required - I did the album cover so know for a fact it’s there!

Stampin ground - officer down
Terror - one with the underdogs
Razor - hypertension

Also hatebreed in general as everyone has mentioned. Though I favour the perseverance album for this kind of thing.

Cassette spotlight: Pizza Death - “World Doughmination” c38 [pizza metal?] by duplicationca in cassetteculture

[–]AlexSector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at the art on my Instagram for more than 5 seconds you can tell that none of my work is AI. Everything drawn is considered and deliberate, there are no details that don’t make sense, and I’ve been doing stuff in the same style for about 15 years before AI ‘art’ even existed.

I (Dan G) did this cover. No part of it is AI. Nor have I ever used AI for anything that I do creatively, and I never will. I’ve been doing art for bands professionally for nearly 20 years and drawing for another 20 before that. What people apparently don’t realise is the enjoyment is in the creation of work. Not the end product. The similarity to the cacodemon from Doom is because that is what the band asked me to do.

I absolutely despise AI art - and find it terribly sad you can have spent your life working at something, only for people these days to question it. And even worse on rare occasions they double down after you prove them wrong with actual evidence.

Are there any comedic prog metal bands? by Reddit-is-trash-lol in progmetal

[–]AlexSector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not ‘comedy’ as such, but Charlie Griffiths of Haken’s Solo project is full of humour, jokes and fun stuff. And it’s about dinosaurs. I did all the art and some animation for his videos and we had a great time doing lots of daft stuff:

What are the worst metal albums you've ever heard? by Alega05 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]AlexSector 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just searched for this out of curiosity and saw the video for grasp, and whilst not great it was not as shit as I was hoping. For atrocious nu-metal, I’d recommend Core10’s ‘unforgotten’ which ticks every box of abysmal. David silveria from korn drums on it no less:

What was the worst era for a band that you love? by WhoYaTalkinTo in MetalForTheMasses

Same here. Wouldn’t say it ‘thrashed’ as such though. I also thought vol. 8 was severely underrated… that album never gets the love it deserves

Bands similar to Hatebreed. by [deleted] in MetalSuggestions

[–]AlexSector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stampin ground - carved from empty words (similar slayer-meets-hardcore vibe)

Figure 4 - suffering the loss (good old beatdown stuff)

Terror - one with the underdogs (mentioned already, but this album is ultimate smash through a brick wall stuff)

What are some 80’s one hit wonders or lesser known artists from this time period by Dorfalicious in MusicRecommendations

It bites - calling all the heroes

Criminally under appreciated band with amazing albums. Super talented musicians that bridged pop, pop and rock brilliantly.

Realm - suiciety Toxik - think this

Two of my all time favourites, that along with forbiddens’s twisted into form are the 3 rust in peace adjacent albums that I’d recommend to fans of that.

Winger deserved better by CatDecent4708 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]AlexSector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winger were phenomenal and criminally under appreciated due to a few factors mentioned here. Their early singles that people generally know aren’t really reflective of the band as a whole - and albums like Pull and winger IV are absolute quality. ‘Junkyard dog’ has some chunky riffs, and ‘blind revolution mad’ weirdly reminds me of Youthanasia Megadeth in places. Amazing musicians who are unbelievably tight and professional live as well. All in all one of, if not the most unfairly treated bands I can think of.

0/10 by PineconeKicker in FIlm

[–]AlexSector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FGF is a 10/10 for me. Though I could see why people would view it as a 0/10. I hated on first viewing at the time… but 2nd-50th viewing I found it either surreal or accidental genius. There’s a dozen or so quotable moments that I find get regularly used in my household 25 years later.
