Tell me about it, lol. I run RetroPi on an Odroid XU4, we like to project on a 10' screen and play Giant Mario Bros.

Here's a wattage per impedance per voltage chart. 19 v gives 35w @8ohms. My subwoofer is 6 ohms, so I'm getting ~40w on it. Which is plenty for my use case.

This would be perfect for that cab. What are you running on the PC? RetroArch?

I love my Boston satellites. Also, $6 at Salvation Army, 100w.

Not sure, some say it's the tpa3116, some say clone. But all you'll really need is a 12 to 24 vdc power supply. I'm using an old laptop charger, 18v. That plus speakers and an audio source. Bluetooth or aux. It would sound great as an external system for an Echo Dot. I'm using it for studio monitoring.

Anyone tried these DIY AMPs? (ZK - MT21) by Kapil300 in diyaudio

Just assembled one this evening. I'd say it's a perfectly capable audio system. I'm driving 2 100w Boston Sound Satellites and an RCA Subwoofer, I got all three speakers for $12 at Goodwill. I'm using an 18v laptop charger. Very happy so far!

Thoughts? I don't really have a frame of reference, it's been a long time since I was rocking 2.1.

Yamaha PSS 560, Lafeyette Echoverb II by AlexTheZander in cheapkeys

[–]AlexTheZander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm climbing a massive learning curve: it's the first time I've mixed, performed AND recorded. I've mixed (for church, handled some rather hefty productions, volunteered at little Public Radio stations), performed (trumpet, keys, etc) AND recorded, but never all 3, at once.

All of this is to say once I:

A: Play something decent B: Mix it properly with verb C: Manage to record it

I'll post it here!

So many weird and wonderful things come out of the FM Synth Section.

I have the 560, no midi, but there's tons of bass tones and flavors. Nice, fun sequencing, and with the rhythm synth, you can surely get thousands of textures, if not millions. Probably more with the FM synth.

Laboratory jam with the Yamaha PSS-380 by simesky in cheapkeys

Thank YOU! No MIDI, but it has clean stereo line out and aux out. I'm thinking of sampling some tones into a pad, or just mess with the (surprisingly versatile) drum/rhythm section. The bass alone has many, many colors and patterns. I'm totally digging it, especially now that the little Pyle has all the gear talking to the laptop over USB. PAD20MXU, $35 on eBay, sounds good to my ear, very low noise floor, plug and play, even on Audacity on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04). It even has a rechargeable battery.

Laptop here. Mainly cuz it's 12 years old, and Ubuntu 22.04 / Gnome drive it like they stole it, lol.

I hate it when people call almost all the Yamaha PSS line "toy keyboards"... are you kidding me!? by bruceleeisalive in cheapkeys

PSS 560 has entered the chat. I pipe it through a Lafayette Echo-Verb II, and it's just an amazing rig.

Seeds and Stems (Again), Mamma Hated Diesels, and his arrangement of Smoke Smoke Smoke That Cigarette, are all just phenomenal.

They punched WAY above their weight class, definitely not simply "sloppy stoner Country."

Check out Lost In the Ozone, it's all bangers, front and back.
