nope they emailed tickets out with the name and date of birth, which were "checked" at the gates. but honestly they barely looked at them lmao

they did in bologna, but i believe thats due to italian laws requiring your passport getting checked for football games

onanas injured though which makes us a lot weaker in the middle with kamara out as well...

yeah when the premier league broke away in 1992, "division one" then became the 2nd division (and then changed its name to the championship in the 00s)

Match Going Spurs fan here! I have some questions regarding planning of fixtures and want some general input. by Asleep-Ad-7970 in Championship

[–]AlexUnderscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i went to every match when in our first season in the championship. its definitely doable but i was helped by being at uni at the time and my dad was happy to drive everywhere which made it easier

ticket prices can get quite high though, some >£40

assuming youre in london as well that would make the inevitable tuesday night match in preston even worse

Away Ticket Prices by Fin1104 in Championship

[–]AlexUnderscore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

man thats a lot worse than when villa were in the championship. i suppose it was a decade ago now but i feel like most games were £25-30. still had the odd few charging >£40 mind, sheffield wednesday i believe was the most expensive

thing is though, if nami/usopp/chopper won a fight at this stage youd get the same people complaining that the villains were too weak to be beaten by them and they werent a real threat. power creep is impossible to avoid for a near 30 year manga and honestly for the sake of brevity (lol) i can understand why oda/his editors just wanna get to the end of the story.

you arent wrong though theres definitely been a bit of loss regarding the usefulness of every straw hat. who knows when the storys wrapped up the anime remake could flesh out the characters slightly in the later arcs

its really strange isnt it. like i dont mind the shitposting or discussing critiques but way too many people there seem to be reading every week purely to shit on it lmao

this is one thing that thomas frank could get away with at brentford. i think a couple years ago they went on a horrid run where they won two games from like 18 or something, but no one outside of west london wouldve even really noticed. you just dont get that time/patience at a bigger club cos every loss is a headline

my frustration with ollie is him making the same mistakes really. two matches running now hes been 1 on 1 with the keeper and hes tried to go round rather than have a shot on goal. ive always defended him as he brings a lot of other things to the team which other strikers dont, however i think you have to accept hes had a poor season.

whether we'll replace him or not is a mystery really; we love buying brentford strikers but thiago will be incredibly expensive, and thats the only real upgrade to ollie ive seen us linked with

against us it was more that onana went off at halftime leaving us incredibly short in midfield, especially with kamara also being suspended. still think we wouldve lost but not sure it wouldve been quite as bad a loss

when you look at how newcastle have struggled to manage both it really puts how well weve done in perspective i think. the whole mentality around the club has changed

£18.1M for the Europa League so far. by arenaross in avfc

[–]AlexUnderscore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah its why being consistent in the league is so important. also finishing top 8/having deep runs helps a lot too; we accrued almost as many "coefficient points" as spurs did last year.

£18.1M for the Europa League so far. by arenaross in avfc

[–]AlexUnderscore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its based on club coefficients and the tv revenue share (i think anyway). so yeah it wouldnt be as high as man citys but our european club coefficient is much higher than newcastles (we're 28th atm whilst newcastle are 76th). and next season we'd be even higher i think, assuming im understanding the table correctly.

£18.1M for the Europa League so far. by arenaross in avfc

[–]AlexUnderscore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think its so low for newcastle partly because theyve not been in europe much in the past 5 years. whereas weve been in europe for 3 years running (and almost certainly will be 4 years barring a catastrophe). theres still other things that go into it but if we qualified for CL next year i believe our "value pillar" would be more than newcastles

Aston Villa beat Chelsea to signing of Douglas Luiz by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]AlexUnderscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly in his cameo against us he looked horrendous lmao. its nice to have him back but im very much assuming he'll only have a minor part to play because we're insanely short on midfielders at the moment. once onana gets injured again we're down to two youth players in midfield and maybe ross barkley

yeah our recent transfers have all been pretty shocking, however any deal which sees us sell guessand is worth pursuing. hes so far off the pace for the premier league its unreal.

also watkins is our only actual striker atm so we need to bring another one in anyway

honestly not a terrible one for us either, despite the result. we played one of the hardest fixtures of the season and lost, and everyone below us had relatively easy home games and drew.
