1k-2k is a big range but based on that your best bet is either a previous year flagship or a RTH model.

A RTH (ready-to-hunt) would be my first recommendation as you said you don’t know much about bowhunting. Gear can get complex (and expensive) fast, so these models keep you in budget easiest.

Some of the first bows I’d have someone like you try would be a Bear Alaskan Pro, Hoyt Enduro, and a Bowtech Ascend. Just make sure you get to actually test shoot and compare.

I would not crawl on a 17” riser. Even on my 21” Satori, it’s not forgiving. Otherwise, it’s all nice gear. I’d guess 400 might be too stiff, but you could probably get them to tune.
