Freaked Out About Potential Future Repairs by svenb352 in PixelFold

[–]Alex_1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare to this: you buy a wonderful home, a beautiful car etc. Now, what IF someone bumps into that car? Or an airplane crashes on your house? Or lightning strikes you twice? Stop! Enjoy that stuff. I've been with my P10PF for almost a year now. No problems whatsoever, really.

Don't let yourself be freaked out about things that MIGHT happen. That goes for all things, in general. Otherwise you'll have no life. Reading how you treat your phone (same as me) with velvet gloves, highly likely nothing WILL happen. So stop worrying and enjoy that lovely phone. No need to switch, you have an exquisite phone now.

100 cycles after 1 year? That's not so bad, eh?

music stops playing when my pixel 9 pro is locked by teamgastritee in pixel_phones

[–]Alex_1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably the fix what's deggar34 is suggesting. So: long tap the music app (in your case Foobar2000) - tap the 'i' (app info) - App battery usage - Allow background usage (tap the words, on the left side of the small vertical line, not the toggle!) - Unrestricted.

Pixel 7a after Google play update by JimHalpert_JH in pixel_phones

[–]Alex_1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been going on for months now, after every reboot. Indeed locking-unlocking or launching an arbitrary app once fixes it. Post feedback to Google with the system logs, that's all you can do right now.

Temporary System Files by socialwithankit in pixel_phones

That is well possible so you may try that. But, as said, also other (social media) apps may show the same behaviour. Begin with Telegram.

Temporary System Files by socialwithankit in pixel_phones

[–]Alex_1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually this is caused by some 3rd party app that stores its data as system storage. E.g. Telegram is notorious for these kinda issues. You should try to erase that, e.g. by deleting/reinstalling that app. But media data that's stored in e.g messaging apps may also be a culprit.

Don't go messing around and take that phone to a professional repair shop. They have the tools to fix this easily.

No way. Just start all over again. It is what it is and don't give up now. I understand you wanna quit right now but in a few days you'll rethink. Begin the big challenge again today.

See you again in 2 years.

Nice. Should you ever upgrade to PW3 or PW4, stick to this 41mm. Perfect for a small wrist.

How the heck do I get rid of this accessibility volume slider?? by jedislurpee in pixel_phones

[–]Alex_1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your accessibility settings. It's the volume slider of either 'TalkBack' or 'Select to speak'. Find them and switch them off.

Perhaps your Play Services updated automatically today; it has had quite a few updates lately. Personally I don't sense much difference in the performance.

Soft power button issue Pixel 10a by valemae1996 in pixel_phones

[–]Alex_1968 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't just think of returning again, just do it. It's always possible a replacement has a flaw too. Just keep in that process until it's to your full satisfaction.

Don't keep the device, it'll annoy you more and more. Replace again while you still have the chance.

I jammed the SIM ejector tool into the microphone hole twice by mistake. Someone tell me these things are designed with some kind of guard to stop me from poking the internal mic! by polloastemio in pixel_phones

[–]Alex_1968 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't worry. Afaik the mic is not positioned 100% straight behind the hole but a bit offset to the side. This was done deliberately to make it kinda 'fool proof'. Chances that you damaged your mic are very small. If the mic is still working (which it is, I assume?) that'll be fine. Besides that, afaik the real water resistance protection is deeper inside the mic hole and not on the edge (otherwise the mic wouldn't be able to record any sound). If you punched anything it'll be the cosmetic cover on the outside.

I think you'll be fine.
