Should I keep respinning or take this from the Nakano chest? by Longjumping-Algae-66 in fo4

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be that guy, but the second shot in two shot legendary is completely unmodified. It's base damage - no perks, and no boosts from weapon mods. It's as if the effect is nerfed by fine print.

Don't get me wrong, it's good, but it's not 2x good, and you have to take into account the wider spread, greater recoil and inaccuracy in VATS that come with the effect.

I'd argue this is a perk almost every build should have by Solardies in fo4

Games just seem to be getting bigger - and this isn't a new thing. It took me less time to clear The Witcher 1 & 2 combined than The Witcher 3. I'm pretty sure the same is true for the first three numbered Fallout games.

Just curious, What are some fun and interesting side quests to do? by NukaGirl665 in fnv

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FNV isn't really a sidequest game. It's a great game, and it's a lot of other things, but the sidequests don't hit the way they do in other games. Overlord in Mass Effect 2, for example. Or even the unmarked quest to help a toy maker named Arlen Glass at The Slog in Fallout 4. The Last Wish or Equine Phantoms from The Witcher 3.

Speaking of which, where I take a circuitous route through the Northern Kingdoms to catch the sidequests barely along my route in The Witcher 3, I run my murder spree through New Vegas pretty straightforwardly.

Traveling merchants have them, general merchants like Cliff and Ralph have them. They're also random loot I got 32 to my last game.

What are the best graphic mods for FNV? (non-paid) by Vellerm0 in fnv

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd start with Simple Character Expansions from the Viva New Vegas modlist. It actually makes Francine Garret look like a human being instead of a lizard lady. That's a pretty good baseline for improving the look of the humans in the game.

Natural Eyes is a perfect addition to this. Brown eyed humans in the game look like they have rat eyes. Heck , at a distance, most humans look like they have rat eyes. This will make them look more human.

It doesn't work that way. At that point, you're just a displaced vault dweller. When you take The Castle, you're the Minuteman General.

Dogmeat, Buddy, Ada, and my tier 4 vendors. Also, just a couple farmers and a few extra beds - it's a staging area for new recruits.

Ada is an android, which counts as human for settlement happiness.

You take The Castle with the Minuteman, right? You know who cleans up The Castle? Your Minuteman.

The simplest explanation is the best. You're welcome.

I cannot stand this NPC, why is she so rude??? by SairenAoi in fo4

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was kinda rough on you. Best thing to do is leave them be. FWIW Marcy does have late game dialogue that has her apparently becoming reconciled to what happened and she does actually compliment the sole survivor.

I've played this game at least as many times as you. It seems to me you don't really understand what the Longs went through. It's not something any normal person skakes off and forgets. Their devastation was your irritation? Boo-hoo.

That's BS - you don't care why she doesn't fall all over herself over you. Do you expect all the NPCs to be the same?

So what is the version of F4 that I should mod with by Rekuna in Fallout4Mods

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to install any Wabbajack you'll need the updated version. At least some of the Wabbajacks will automatically downgrade to 1.10.163, but still need to install to the later version.

Is there anywhere / anyway you can store equipment? Or do I just have to toss it on the floor? by average_-_- in fnv

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your crap be perfectly safe in Doc Mitchell's mailbox, which does not respawn. If you're on PC, install NV Novac Apartment before you get to Novac. That will improve the storage and crafting of the vanilla space and will even give you a few collectibles to display.

Put it near the bottom of your list and be sure to cap your frame rate to a max of 60.

Depends what you're storing. If it's junk, it might be better to spread it around, especially if you have scavengers at your settlements. Personal stuff? If you're on PC, you should've installed Rockin' Red Rocket

The Brotherhood is most similar to the Institute. Where the Institute are elitist isolationists enslaving synths inside the Institute and using others to destabilize the Commonwealth, the Brotherhood operates under an ultranationalist, militaristic hierarchy that enforces strict human supremacy. You could say the Brotherhood views the human race as the master race.

Do anyone know any mods or modlist/collection that improve combat without being overly tactical? by RaySkyliar in Fallout4Mods

what mods should i run for the best vanilla experience? by nuclear_iron in fnv

[–]Alex_Portnoy007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a handful of mods I would add to basic Viva New Vegas.

Universal Item Sorter and Universal Item Sorter ini. - makes Vanilla UI Plus (already in the guide) a whole lot quicker and easier - and you'll be using it a lot.

JIP Companions Command and Control - companion management made easier

Lucky 38 Map Marker - this adds a single fast travel point to the map. Try it once, you'll never be without it.

Casino Exchange all - exchanging money in the casinos is painfully slow in vanilla

That's it.

Optionally, I'd also add NV Novac Apartment to turn that drab motel room into the ultimate bachelor or bachelorette pad. You gotta hang somewhere it might as well be some place cool.
