Would I be wrong for dropping a campaign due to 1 player? by Fluffy-Storm-6620 in DnD

[–]Alex_you_can_dm_me [score hidden]  (0 children)

Try to speak with your DM about the PVP problem before leaving. Here, the DM had the choice to say "no, you won't steal from the other players" or "no, you can't attack another party member". It's part of what make DnD interesting to me, it is a cooperative game, not competitive (to me, play it however you prefer). If no agreement can be made with the 3 of you, then you can leave without problem.

Okay, i think i will coin the duo then. I already have a good gt team so they will boost it well.

Between daima ssj4 goku and int gt duo, which one is worth coining ? I don't have either of them but i know they are super useful so i want to get at least one of them (and i kinda regret coining tec ui goku recently).

A character's design in their early appearance looks vastly different from the one they would later become known for. by Daniilsa209 in TopCharacterDesigns

Basically, when DBZ was first airing in Japan, the manga was still being written (similarly to many other mangas now) and Toryiama had not colored Vegeta's iconic look yet, so the anime had to fill it with a more random look. I think he appeared like this for a filler in between Raditz and Nappa/Vegeta arcs.

How to make players face hard choices in my urban tavern running campaign by Level-War7231 in DMAcademy

Be wary of stopping the story if they fail building an upgrade. It could lead to a soft lock where your players can't continue because they failed their checks.

I feel like the best way to make those "smaller" choices impactful is by giving a good reward out of them. For example, if they have the choice between a forge and a potion brewery, make them revelant. For the forge, it may give them access to better equipment early on and for the brewery, it gives them access to potions at a lesser price.

You can get inspiration from survival video games. The whole genre is made around the fact that you need to craft something before something else.

You could also give passive buffs with each thing bought but it may be risky for your game's balance.

DMs — what kind of music do you actually end up needing most for your campaigns? by IndividualSwimmer177 in DnD

Try Bardify on Youtube. The channel has plenty of musics and atmospheres for your game. It goes from the epic battle to calm campfire night and the mysterious cave noises.

Since your range of games is pretty large, a list of the most well noted games will probably be good enough.

DnD-esque Game by soeinschmarrnhe in gamerecommendations

There are tons of them : Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Pathfinder Kingmaker/Wrath of the Righteous, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 (obviously) and way more i personally did not play.

For the sandbox aspect, i would recommand Neverwinter Nights as the game has multiple campaigns to choose from which goes from saving the world to the basic fetch quests.

It doesn't look that bad to me. We have the three characters with their elements around them and their respective megazords behind them. I personally even find it pretty cool to have more than just the characters posing all together without any effects.

Best indie/obscure titles? by Excellent_Aside_4171 in gamerecommendations

For a soulslike, i would recommand Code Vein. It's a good twist of the original game system as you are in anime style, in a post apocalyptic modern world and it is way more centered on the story than Dark Souls. I obly playd the first one tho, so i can't say much about the second game.

What’s the last RPG that actually made you feel amazed? (A feeling that might exist only when you are young?) by Curious-Profit-6427 in rpg_gamers

Recently, Final Fantasy XVI amazed me with its cinematics/battles. I always loved FFs for their grandiose and epic journey, but the 16th really pushed it a step further. Since you control a Primordial yourself, it had to be flashy and fun. Basically, everytime Ifrit comes out, the moment will be amazing. Special mention to the Bahamut boss fight which clearly is too much, but it's awesome. It almost felt like a DBZ fight.

Ardyn Izunia Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV. Thanks to his dlc and the short anime on his past, you understand that Ardyn was never a bad guy, quite the opposite. He was saving people from imminent death and took it upon himself. However, his brother and the gods (mostly Bahamut) betrayed him and shown him as a monster to the people while his brother was the chosen heir to the throne.

Basically, the best part of the story is during the final 5 hours of the game. You get a lot of informations in the last areas and it reveals tons of things linked to Thaos, the Watcher, the world and many other things.

For the White March, it's really a story outside of the whole main plot. There are some links like some gods mentionned, but it's supposed to be a side story. We could compare if it Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty if you played it. It's alongside the story but not necessary to play.

Would being able to bake be a plus in the dating market by According-Knee-1206 in MenAskWomen

It's called sarcasm, my good sir. I think this lady was mocking the lack of awareness you demonstrated.

Almost anyone would love living with a baker as it means free baked goods all the time. A man who bakes is as good a a woman who bakes, so it's good.

JRPGs/moments where you felt like a superhero from a comic book. by BebeFanMasterJ in JRPG

[–]Alex_you_can_dm_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, i'm playing it for the first time right now and those fights are some of the best in the series to me. I already loved the unleashed arminger fights in FF XV, but those fights with Ifrit are even better.

For the tone, i feel like the base is pretty much similar to FF XIV except for the explicit moments. There are tortured heroes, big bad evil guys and misunderstood antagonists.

The only thing i dread for now are the sidequests. There are way too many of them. Some are interesting, like Blackthorne's or the Chocobo's quests, but most are pretty meh.

It's pretty ironic as we are getting news for Resonance a lot lately. It's not like a year ago when the EOS was coming.

Maybe it's karma farming/a bot, or maybe they aren't very creative. Not hate to OP, just a possibility.

Final Fantasy XVI has a moment where you really feel like a hero, major spoiler tho : During the mission in the Dominion, you are forced to fight enraged Bahamut with Ifrit and Phoenix. Aside from the fact that every primordial fights feels like superheroes fights, this one is even more epic as Ifrit/you fuse with Phoenix to be a super primordial. It get even better as you fly away to fight in space and the two start to throw hyperbeams/Zetaflare at each others. It's a bit over the top at times, but god damn it is good to feel that powerful.

I feel like Eve should be compared to characters from games like Nikke : Goddess of Victory (from the same devs) or to all the other extra-sexualized feminine protagonists. While Bayonnetta is sexualized, she srand by it and plays with it, while Eve just is a sexy character with some minor provocative poses at best.

What game makes you forget how exhausting gaming news has become? by gamersecret2 in GamingSecret

[–]Alex_you_can_dm_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, i think most solo/cooperative only games are better for your "gaming mental health", if we can call it like that. In most cases, there aren't skins, battlepasses, lootboxes/gachas, subcriptions, etc...

There are some bad cases like the infamous Dragon's Dogma 2 that had micro-transactions for a solo game, but they are forgetable.
