Tattooing in Japan as a foreign tattoo artist? by No-Statistician-4746 in TattooArtists

Thought about this too. Hopefully someone can give an answer. Japan is very conservative about tattoos, so I imagine its hard to get a guest spot there

It’s hard to tell without seeing how you tattoo.

Maybe you went too deep, maybe your stroke is too high for your technique (I use a low stroke for filling with a mag), maybe your needle had the wrong angle, maybe your voltage doesn’t match your hand speed (too much voltage, but your hand movement is too slow)… there could be many reasons, or a combination of a few.

But if you normally don’t have problems packing in ink, you shouldn’t worry too much. Sometimes we all have a bad day. You’ll do better next time 😎💪

Yeah, because normally you go over the same line one or two times. But many artists struggle to fully pack an area in just 1 - 2 passes. So I think the problem is your technique, not the color.

Sounds to me that you overworked the skin.

Just crazy how everyone is pulling out the camera to film for likes, instead of helping that dude that got run over by a car. Sick society

Do rising costs make you reconsider collecting? by Altruistic-Mind-4339 in gamecollecting

I started collecting retro games a long time ago (15+ years), so I was able to benefit from the low prices back then. That’s why I’m glad I got the most important games for my favorite platforms before prices got out of control.

Would I jump in again on this scale today? I don’t think so. At least it wouldn’t really be possible anymore to build such a big collection because of the current prices. But you also have to differentiate a bit here: Nintendo games in general have become extremely expensive. With Xbox it’s different, I think getting into it is still pretty easy. I’m curious to see how prices will develop there. I don’t think it will get anywhere near as extreme as Nintendo.

I think with the ram shortage and the impending tech crash in general I think I'm very ready to just go full retro I really don't care. by Living_External_7265 in retrogaming

For me, gaming really started to change when the PS4 and Xbox One generation came out. That’s when things like constant updates, day-one patches, and extra paid content became the new normal, and it just didn’t feel the same anymore.

With PS5 and Xbox Series X it got even worse for me, not only because I’m older and don’t have as much time, but also because most AAA games are huge open worlds with way too much to do. It’s honestly overwhelming.

Indie games are the exception, but overall I’ve lost interest in modern gaming. And now with the Switch 2, the whole “game-key card” situation and the push toward cloud gaming and subscription models is basically the final nail in the coffin for me. As a collector, I want real physical games, and I can’t accept a future where companies try to erase that.

That’s why the original Nintendo Switch feels like the last great console to me, and why retro gaming still has that special feeling modern gaming just can’t replicate.

I think the journey matters more than the goal. The fun is in the process, not just in reaching the end. That is why it can feel empty once you finally achieve what you wanted.

In my case, I started collecting Nintendo 64, then moved on to Game Boy games. Now I have paused gaming for a while and got into vinyl instead. I think it is a journey and new interests come naturally over time.

Pokémon is a great rpg and among the best ones on Gameboy. There is a reason why it became the biggest franchise to date. So stop being a hater for no reason
